Descrizione
Il passo Pordoi è un valico delle Dolomiti posto a 2.239 m.s.l.m. e situato tra il Gruppo del Sella a nord e il gruppo della Marmolada a sud. Congiunge Arabba, frazione del comune di Livinallongo del Col di Lana in Val Cordevole nella provincia veneta di Belluno, con Canazei, comune della Val di Fassa in provincia di Trento. Il passo Pordoi fa parte anche della grande strada delle Dolomiti.
Pordoi is a pass in the Dolomites in the Alps, located between the Sella group in the north and the Marmolada group in the south. The pass is at an altitude of 2,239 m, and the road crossing the pass connects Arabba with Canazei. It is the second highest surfaced road traversing a pass in the Dolomites, after the Sella Pass.
Das Pordoi Joch (2239 m) ist wohl der bekannteste Dolomitenpass entlang der großen Dolomitenstrasse. Im Nordwesten umgeben vom Langkofel (3181 m), den zum Sellamassiv gehörenden Sass Pordoi (2950 m) und im Norden eingerahmt von der höchsten Erhebung des Sellamassivs, dem Piz Boè (3152 m). Auf der Kammhöhe Richtung Süden erhebt sich die Königin der Dolomiten, die Marmolada (Gletscher- 3.342 m) und weiter östlich reicht die Aussicht bis Porta Vescovo (2562 m) sowie hinweg bis zur Fanes Gruppe und den Tofane. Südöstlich des Pordoi Joches auf bellunesischer Seite entspringt der Fluss Cordevole, der das Buchensteinertal durchfließt und 70 km weiter südlich in den Piave mündet.
