Il suggestivo spazio di Piazzetta Beccaruzzi accoglie, domenica 21 giugno 2026 alle ore 18:30, il concerto del gruppo Kalimbata insieme all'ospite speciale Boštjan Simon.
L'evento si configura come una profonda esplorazione musicale e un incontro tra culture, capace di fondere tradizioni lontane e linguaggi contemporanei. Il trio Kalimbata – composto da Luigi Vitale (vibrafono, balafon, kalimba, steel pan, qraqeb), Gianpaolo Rinaldi (organo hammond, synth) e Luca Colussi (batteria e percussioni) – propone un viaggio nelle sonorità del continente nero ricco di contaminazioni e di una travolgente carica ritmica. La loro ricerca, che unisce strumenti acustici ed elettronici, spazia tra afro-jazz, world music e sperimentazione. All'attivo del gruppo c'è il primo omonimo disco del 2024, registrato per la prestigiosa etichetta Artesuono, a cui segue prossimamente l'uscita del secondo album dal titolo Where is the humanity?.
Ad arricchire la performance c'è il raffinato sassofonista sloveno di fama internazionale Boštjan Simon (impegnato al sax soprano, alto, tenore, baritono ed elettronica), il cui stile personale e magnetico unisce improvvisazione ed elettronica. Il dialogo tra il suo sassofono e le trame ritmiche del trio dà vita a un’esperienza unica, intensa e immersiva, guidata da un forte senso di interplay.
Per questo appuntamento l'ingresso è libero e senza prenotazione. In caso di maltempo, il concerto si tiene al chiuso presso l'Androne di Palazzo Sarcinelli.
The picturesque space of Piazzetta Beccaruzzi will host, on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., a concert by the group Kalimbata along with special guest Boštjan Simon.
The event is configured as a deep musical exploration and a meeting of cultures, able to blend distant traditions and contemporary languages. The trio Kalimbata – composed of Luigi Vitale (vibraphone, balafon, kalimba, steel pan, qraqeb), Gianpaolo Rinaldi (Hammond organ, synth) and Luca Colussi (drums and percussion) – proposes a journey through the sounds of the black continent rich in contaminations and an overwhelming rhythmic charge. Their research, which combines acoustic and electronic instruments, spans across afro-jazz, world music, and experimentation. The group has released their first self-titled album in 2024, recorded for the prestigious label Artesuono, followed soon by the release of their second album titled Where is the humanity?.
Enriching the performance is the refined Slovenian saxophonist of international fame Boštjan Simon (playing soprano, alto, tenor, baritone saxophones and electronics), whose personal and magnetic style combines improvisation and electronics. The dialogue between his saxophone and the rhythmic textures of the trio creates a unique, intense, and immersive experience, guided by a strong sense of interplay.
For this appointment, the entrance is free and without reservation. In case of bad weather, the concert will take place indoors at the Androne of Palazzo Sarcinelli.
