Torna "Una Collina di Libri 2026", la festa internazionale della letteratura delle Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene che propone una serie di incontri con scrittrici e scrittori da tutto il mondo.
Francesco Chiamulera inaugura il primo appuntamento della primavera presentando lo scrittore Giovanni Montanaro con il suo libro "Il fuoco di Venezia".
La serata avrà luogo mercoledì 25 marzo alle ore 19.00 nella Sala dei Battuti a Conegliano; l'ingresso è libero e la prenotazione consigliata su EventBrite.it.

Giovanni Montanaro è nato a Venezia nel 1983: è scrittore e avvocato. Ha scritto, tra gli altri, i romanzi La croce Honninfjord (Marsilio, 2007), Tutti i colori del mondo (Feltrinelli, 2012; Premio Selezione Campiello), Il libraio di Venezia (2020), Come una sirena (2023) e Il fuoco di Venezia (2026).
Alla fine degli anni Sessanta, mentre l’uomo sta per mettere piede sulla Luna e il divorzio non è ancora legge, Elena Spina Torcellan gestisce da sola la Fornace dell’Est, nell’isola di Murano. È una donna in un mondo di uomini, che spesso le sono ostili, ma è anche competente e coraggiosa, ed è determinata a salvare la ditta insieme a Tiziano Zen, un giovane maestro vetraio, geniale e ombroso. Vengono da due mondi diversi – Elena dalla borghesia, Tiziano da un sestiere popolare –, ma li uniscono il vetro e le collezioni che creano insieme. Elena è già sposata e ha un figlio, ma tra lei e Tiziano nasce un amore che li accompagna per oltre cinquant’anni, un sentimento che resiste anche quando loro si perdono per poi ritrovarsi, mentre arde il fuoco del vetro, della Storia, di un incendio che forse spegnerà per sempre la Fornace dell’Est. Addii e fallimenti, sorprese e rinascite, serate alla Fenice e gite in laguna, ma anche le Brigate Rosse, la Mala del Brenta, Černobyl’, l’11 Settembre. Com’è sorprendente Venezia vista con gli occhi di chi ci è nato e ci vive… Nel suo romanzo vitale e pieno d’amore, Giovanni Montanaro la restituisce come una città unica, ma anche una città come tutte le altre. E soprattutto un luogo ancora pieno di speranza e di futuro, di nuove generazioni che, nonostante tutto, scelgono di vivere affacciate sullo specchio luccicante e mutevole della laguna.

Giovanni Montanaro was born in Venice in 1983: he is a writer and lawyer. He has written, among others, the novels The Honninfjord Cross (Marsilio, 2007), All the Colors of the World (Feltrinelli, 2012; Premio Selezione Campiello), The Bookseller of Venice (2020), Like a Siren (2023), and The Fire of Venice (2026).
At the end of the 1960s, while man is about to set foot on the Moon and divorce is not yet legal, Elena Spina Torcellan manages the Fornace dell’Est alone, on the island of Murano. She is a woman in a man's world, often hostile to her, but she is also competent and courageous, determined to save the company together with Tiziano Zen, a young glass master, brilliant and brooding. They come from two different worlds – Elena from the bourgeoisie, Tiziano from a working-class district – but they are united by glass and the collections they create together. Elena is already married and has a child, but between her and Tiziano, a love develops that accompanies them for over fifty years, a feeling that endures even when they lose each other only to find each other again, while the fire burns of glass, of History, of a fire that may forever extinguish the Fornace dell’Est. Farewells and failures, surprises and rebirths, evenings at the Fenice and trips in the lagoon, but also the Red Brigades, the Mala del Brenta, Chernobyl, September 11. How surprising Venice is seen through the eyes of someone who was born and lives there… In his lively and love-filled novel, Giovanni Montanaro gives it back as a unique city, but also a city like all the others. And above all, a place still full of hope and future, of new generations who, despite everything, choose to live overlooking the sparkling and ever-changing mirror of the lagoon.

Er hat unter anderem die Romane La croce Honninfjord (Marsilio, 2007), Tutti i colori del mondo (Feltrinelli, 2012; Premio Selezione Campiello), Il libraio di Venezia (2020), Come una sirena (2023) und Il fuoco di Venezia (2026) geschrieben.
Am Ende der sechziger Jahre, während der Mensch im Begriff ist, den Mond zu betreten, und die Scheidung noch kein Gesetz ist, führt Elena Spina Torcellan allein die Fornace dell’Est auf der Insel Murano. Sie ist eine Frau in einer Männerwelt, die ihr oft feindlich gesinnt ist, aber sie ist auch kompetent und mutig und entschlossen, die Firma zusammen mit Tiziano Zen, einem jungen Glasmacher, genial und geheimnisvoll, zu retten. Sie kommen aus zwei verschiedenen Welten – Elena aus der Bourgeoisie, Tiziano aus einem volkstümlichen Viertel –, aber sie verbindet das Glas und die Sammlungen, die sie gemeinsam kreieren. Elena ist bereits verheiratet und hat ein Kind, aber zwischen ihr und Tiziano entsteht eine Liebe, die sie über fünfzig Jahre begleitet, ein Gefühl, das auch dann besteht, wenn sie sich verlieren, um sich wiederzufinden, während das Feuer des Glases, der Geschichte, eines Brandes, der vielleicht die Fornace dell’Est für immer auslöschen wird, brennt.
