1932. Decimo anno dell’era fascista. Sulla panchina di un parco di Milano un gruppo di ragazze lancia un’idea, per gioco, quasi per sfida: giocare a calcio. Fondarono il GFC (Gruppo Femminile Calcistico), la prima squadra di calcio femminile italiana che in breve raccolse intorno a sé decine di atlete. Gli organi federali in principio assecondarono l’iniziativa, consentendo loro di allenarsi, ma non di giocare in pubblico. Inoltre dovevano usare un pallone di gomma e non di cuoio, indossare la gonna non i pantaloncini, passare la palla solo rasoterra e in porta dovevano far giocare dei ragazzini adolescenti. Tutto questo per preservare le loro “capacità riproduttive”. Nonostante ciò la loro avventura sportiva riuscì caparbiamente a resistere per quasi un anno, quando, proprio alla vigilia della loro prima partita ufficiale, il regime le costrinse a smettere di giocare.La loro fu una sfida al loro tempo, al regime, alla mentalità dominante che vedeva nel calcio lo sport emblema della virilità fascista. Di questo pugno di ragazze, che a loro modo sfidarono il Duce e la cultura del loro tempo, alcune si riciclarono in altri sport, altre uscirono dalla storia, altre ancora entrarono in una storia più grande, partecipando dieci anni dopo alla lotta partigiana. La loro epopea è raccontata con ironia e leggerezza da un trio di attrici che, mischiando comicità e narrazione, ci mostra come, pur a distanza di tanti anni e di tante battaglie, certi pregiudizi siano duri a morire e come la lotta per la libertà e i propri diritti passi anche attraverso lo sport.

1932. Tenth year of the fascist era. On a park bench in Milan, a group of girls throws out an idea, as a game, almost as a challenge: to play soccer. They founded the GFC (Gruppo Femminile Calcistico), the first Italian women’s soccer team that quickly gathered around it dozens of athletes. Initially, the federal bodies supported the initiative, allowing them to train but not to play in public. Furthermore, they had to use a rubber ball instead of leather, wear skirts instead of shorts, pass the ball only along the ground, and in goal, they had to let adolescent boys play. All this was to preserve their "reproductive capabilities." Despite this, their sporting adventure stubbornly managed to last nearly a year, when, just on the eve of their first official match, the regime forced them to stop playing. Their challenge was against their time, the regime, and the dominant mentality that viewed soccer as the emblematic sport of fascist virility. Of this handful of girls, who in their own way challenged the Duce and the culture of their time, some reinvented themselves in other sports, others faded from history, while others entered a larger story, participating ten years later in the partisan struggle. Their epic is told with irony and lightness by a trio of actresses who, mixing comedy and narration, show us how, despite many years and battles, certain prejudices are hard to die and how the struggle for freedom and one’s rights also passes through sport.

1932. Zehntes Jahr der faschistischen Ära. Auf einer Bank in einem Park in Mailand wirft eine Gruppe von Mädchen eine Idee ins Spiel, fast spielerisch, wie eine Herausforderung: Fußballspielen. Sie gründeten den GFC (Gruppo Femminile Calcistico), das erste italienische Frauenfußballteam, das bald Zehn von Athletinnen um sich versammelte. Die Verbandsorgane unterstützten zunächst die Initiative, gestatteten ihnen, zu trainieren, jedoch nicht vor Publikum zu spielen. Außerdem mussten sie einen Gummiball und keinen Lederball verwenden, Röcke und keine Shorts tragen, den Ball nur am Boden passen und im Tor mussten Jugendliche spielen. Dies alles, um ihre „fortpflanzungsfähigen Fähigkeiten“ zu bewahren. Dennoch gelang es ihrem sportlichen Abenteuer, hartnäckig fast ein Jahr zu bestehen, bis das Regime sie kurz vor ihrem ersten offiziellen Spiel zwang, das Spielen einzustellen. Ihre Herausforderung richtete sich an ihr Zeitalter, an das Regime und an die vorherrschende Mentalität, die Fußball als das Sportemblem der faschistischen Männlichkeit ansah. Von dieser Gruppe von Mädchen, die auf ihre Weise das Duce und die Kultur ihrer Zeit herausforderten, fanden einige in anderen Sportarten ihren Platz, andere verschwanden aus der Geschichte, während wieder andere in eine größere Geschichte eintraten, indem sie zehn Jahre später am Partisanenkrieg teilnahmen. Ihre Epik wird mit Ironie und Leichtigkeit von einem Trio von Schauspielerinnen erzählt, die, Comedy und Erzählung vermischend, uns zeigen, dass bestimmte Vorurteile, trotz der vielen Jahre und Kämpfe, schwer zu sterben sind und dass der Kampf um Freiheit und eigene Rechte auch durch den Sport geht.
