Stretto racconta di una traversata a nuoto dello stretto di Messina, da sempre palcoscenico di partenze, di ritorni, di fughe; ispirazione di poeti e narratori.
I miti (Ulisse, Scilla e Cariddi), le leggende (Colapesce, Fata Morgana), le storie popolari (le donne di Bagnara), le storie religiose (San Francesco da Paola), gli eventi storici (il terremoto del 1908) e le testimonianze delle donne e degli uomini di oggi, che hanno da sempre lo stretto nei propri occhi e nella propria quotidianità.
Raccontare la propria storia significa rinnovare il legame con il proprio passato, far rivivere chi non c'è più e in alcuni casi “tornare a casa”.
Spettacolo interpretato da Stefano Panzeri, musiche originali dal vivo di Giorgia Faraone, scritto e diretto da Giovanni Arezzo.

Stretto tells of a swim crossing of the Strait of Messina, always a stage for departures, returns, and escapes; inspiration for poets and storytellers.
The myths (Ulysses, Scylla and Charybdis), the legends (Colapesce, Fata Morgana), the folk stories (the women of Bagnara), the religious stories (Saint Francis of Paola), the historical events (the earthquake of 1908) and the testimonies of the men and women of today, who have always had the strait in their eyes and in their daily lives.
To tell one’s story means to renew the bond with one’s past, to bring back to life those who are no longer here and in some cases “to come back home”.
Performance interpreted by Stefano Panzeri, with live original music by Giorgia Faraone, written and directed by Giovanni Arezzo.

Stretto erzählt von einer Schwimmüberquerung der Straße von Messina, die seit jeher Bühne von Abreisen, Rückkehrern und Fluchten ist; Inspiration für Dichter und Erzähler.
Die Mythen (Odysseus, Scylla und Charybdis), die Legenden (Colapesce, Fata Morgana), die volkstümlichen Geschichten (die Frauen von Bagnara), die religiösen Geschichten (San Francesco da Paola), die historischen Ereignisse (das Erdbeben von 1908) und die Berichte der Frauen und Männer von heute, die die Straße von jeher in ihren Augen und in ihrem Alltag haben.
Die eigene Geschichte zu erzählen bedeutet, die Verbindung zur eigenen Vergangenheit zu erneuern, diejenigen, die nicht mehr da sind, wieder zum Leben zu erwecken und in manchen Fällen “nach Hause zurückzukehren”.
Das Stück wird von Stefano Panzeri interpretiert, mit originaler Live-Musik von Giorgia Faraone, geschrieben und inszeniert von Giovanni Arezzo.
