Mercoledì 20 maggio l'Auditorium ex chiesa di San Pietro di Borgo Valbelluna, ospiterà la presentazione del libro "Riscoprire le Prealpi Bellunesi", di Giovanni Carraro.
Con questo volume Giovanni Carraro completa il lungo percorso di esplorazione delle Prealpi Venete Orientali, iniziato nel 2011 con Riscoprire le Prealpi Trevigiane, portando il suo racconto fino alla Valbelluna.
Un viaggio di 543 chilometri a piedi attraverso sette aree che raccontano la varietà e la bellezza delle Prealpi Bellunesi: dai Coi de Pèra di Ponte nelle Alpi al comprensorio Nevegal – Col Visentin, da Limana a Trichiana, da Mel a Lentiai fino al Canal del Piave.
50 itinerari, alcuni dei quali inediti, che toccano antiche cave di pietra, malghe e casere, chiesette, cascate, forre e vecchie borgate, con panorami che spaziano dalle Dolomiti alla pianura. Ogni percorso è corredato dalle mappe Tabacco, da una tabella tecnica, dal QR Code per il punto di partenza e dalle tracce GPS scaricabili dal sito di Ediciclo. Numerosi box culturali e reportage arricchiscono il racconto con approfondimenti su storia, leggende e curiosità locali, offrendo al camminatore un modo autentico per conoscere e comprendere questa parte di montagna.
L’autore Giovanni Carraro è nato a Pieve di Cadore nel 1966 e vive a Susegana (Treviso). Escursionista, scrittore e divulgatore, è ideatore del Cammino delle Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene.
Tra i libri pubblicati con Ediciclo: Riscoprire le Prealpi Trevigiane (2011), I sentieri nascosti delle Prealpi Trevigiane (2013), Visentin selvaggio (2015), Dolomiti – uno sguardo tra le rocce (2023) e Riscoprire il Monte Grappa (2024). Collabora con Telebelluno e Il Gazzettino, è giornalista pubblicista, socio CAI e Accompagnatore Escursionistico F.I.E. Sostenitore della Fondazione Dolomiti UNESCO e del programma MAB UNESCO Monte Grappa, ha ricevuto il Premio Auronzo 2020 e il riconoscimento Paul Harris Fellow dal Rotary nel 2022.

On Wednesday, May 20, the Auditorium ex chiesa di San Pietro di Borgo Valbelluna will host the presentation of the book "Rediscovering the Belluno Prealps", by Giovanni Carraro.
With this volume, Giovanni Carraro completes the long journey of exploration of the Eastern Venetian Prealps, which began in 2011 with Rediscovering the Treviso Prealps, bringing his story to the Valbelluna.
A journey of 543 kilometers on foot through seven areas that narrate the variety and beauty of the Belluno Prealps: from the Coi de Pèra of Ponte nelle Alpi to the Nevegal – Col Visentin area, from Limana to Trichiana, from Mel to Lentiai, up to the Canal del Piave.
50 itineraries, some of which are unpublished, that touch on ancient stone quarries, alpine dairies and cottages, small churches, waterfalls, gorges, and old hamlets, with views that range from the Dolomites to the plain. Each route is accompanied by Tabacco maps, a technical table, a QR Code for the starting point, and downloadable GPS tracks from the Ediciclo website. Numerous cultural boxes and reports enrich the narrative with insights into history, legends, and local curiosities, offering the walker an authentic way to know and understand this part of the mountains.
The author, Giovanni Carraro, was born in Pieve di Cadore in 1966 and lives in Susegana (Treviso). A hiker, writer, and communicator, he is the creator of the Prosecco Hills Path of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
Among the books published with Ediciclo: Rediscovering the Treviso Prealps (2011), The Hidden Trails of the Treviso Prealps (2013), Wild Visentin (2015), Dolomites – a view among the rocks (2023), and Rediscovering Monte Grappa (2024). A supporter of the Dolomiti UNESCO Foundation and the MAB UNESCO Monte Grappa program, he received the Auronzo Award in 2020 and the Paul Harris Fellow recognition from Rotary in 2022.

Am Mittwoch, den 20. Mai, wird das Auditorium der ehemaligen Kirche San Pietro di Borgo Valbelluna die Präsentation des Buches "Die Prealpen Bellunesi neu entdecken" von Giovanni Carraro beherbergen.
Mit diesem Band vollendet Giovanni Carraro den langen Weg der Erkundung der östlichen Venetiens Prealpen, der 2011 mit "Die Prealpen Trevigiane neu entdecken" begann und seine Erzählung bis zur Valbelluna bringt.
Eine Reise von 543 Kilometern zu Fuß durch sieben Gebiete, die die Vielfalt und Schönheit der Prealpen Bellunesi erzählen: von den Coi de Pèra di Ponte nelle Alpi bis zum Gebiet Nevegal – Col Visentin, von Limana nach Trichiana, von Mel nach Lentiai bis zum Canal del Piave.
50 Routen, von denen einige neu sind, streifen alte Steinbrüche, Almhütten und Gehöfte, kleine Kirchen, Wasserfälle, Schluchten und alte Dörfer, mit Ausblicken, die von den Dolomiten bis zur Ebene reichen. Jede Strecke ist mit Tabacco-Karten ausgestattet, enthält eine technische Tabelle, einen QR-Code für den Ausgangspunkt und herunterladbare GPS-Tracks von der Website Ediciclo. Zahlreiche kulturelle Boxen und Reportagen bereichern die Erzählung mit Vertiefungen zu Geschichte, Legenden und lokalen Kuriositäten und bieten dem Wanderer einen authentischen Weg, um diesen Teil der Berge kennenzulernen und zu verstehen.
