Descrizione

Borgo Piave ETC aps, on the occasion of the exhibition Seeing Gellner promoted by the association as part of the 30th edition of Beyond the Peaks, also proposes a conference for deeper understanding, entitled Understanding Gellner, curated by architect Nicola Noro which will focus on Edoardo Gellner's rejection of the false antiquity of alpine architectures and the authentic dialogue between modernity and landscape: in the village, concrete is left exposed, with the textures of the formwork on display, not as a brutal choice, but as constructive honesty.

Alongside concrete, there is wood: larch for structures, carpentry, and railings; solid mahogany for furnishings. The volumes are low, horizontal, adapted to the morphology of the land.

Nothing dominates the landscape; everything collaborates with it. And then there is color: red, blue, and ochre yellow alternate with white according to a precise logic that runs through facades, interiors, and furnishings.

The green never appears because it is already there, in the nature that surrounds every building and that has always been envisioned by Gellner himself, transforming the gravel into 200 hectares of forest.

Nicola Noro

In March 2017, he discussed a master's thesis of great relevance titled "V.T.A.B. Contexts of a Fortunate Case."

The research focuses on the Eni Village of Corte di Cadore in Borca di Cadore, analyzing the complex relationship between the avant-garde architecture of Edoardo Gellner and the radical transformation of the microclimate and the surrounding Dolomite landscape.

His thesis work has also been recognized and valued by the Edoardo Gellner Association.

He has collaborated with the prestigious scientific journal Engramma, for which he has written essays and curated in-depth studies dedicated to classical tradition in Western memory and 20th-century architectural criticism.
