Dopo l'enorme successo ottenuto gli scorsi anni, viene riproposto al Teatro Romano il balletto in due atti Zorba il Greco, su musiche di Mikīs Theodōrakīs e coreografia di Lorca Massine.
Il 25 e 26 agosto, in scena il corpo di ballo di Fondazione Arena, coordinato da Gaetano Petrosino nello spettacolo prodotto da Fondazione Arena con le scene di Filippo Tonon, il coordinamento costumi di Silvia Bonetti e le luci di Sergio Toffali.
L'opera, dal titolo originale "La vita e il tempo di Alexis Zorba" ma conosciuta semplicemente come "Zorba il greco", è il romanzo più conosciuto dello scrittore greco Nikos Kazantzakis. Pubblicato nel 1946, deve la sua fama alla trasposizione cinematografica realizzata vent'anni più tardi dal regista Michael Cacoyannis, con protagonisti l'attore americano Anthony Quinn nel ruolo di Alexis Zorba e l'attrice greca Irene Papas nel ruolo della vedova. Iconica rimane la scena in cui il protagonista balla in spiaggia il sirtaki, il componimento noto come la Danza di Zorba, che in seguito alla fama riscossa in Grecia è divenuto una danza popolare.
La pellicola è stata candidata a innumerevoli premi, tra cui sei Oscar (di cui ne vince tre come migliore attrice non protagonista, scenografia e fotografia), cinque Golden Globe, quattro Bafta, un Grammy Award e un Laurel Award.
After the enormous success achieved in previous years, the ballet in two acts Zorba the Greek is being presented again at the Roman Theatre, with music by Mikīs Theodōrakīs and choreography by Lorca Massine.
On August 25 and 26, the Fondazione Arena dance company will perform, coordinated by Gaetano Petrosino in a production by Fondazione Arena, with sets designed by Filippo Tonon, costume coordination by Silvia Bonetti, and lighting by Sergio Toffali.
The work, originally titled "The Life and Times of Alexis Zorba" but simply known as "Zorba the Greek," is the most well-known novel by the Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis. Published in 1946, it owes its fame to the film adaptation made twenty years later by director Michael Cacoyannis, starring American actor Anthony Quinn as Alexis Zorba and Greek actress Irene Papas as the widow. The iconic scene where the protagonist dances the sirtaki on the beach, the piece known as Zorba's Dance, has since become a popular dance in Greece.
The film was nominated for numerous awards, including six Oscars (of which it won three for Best Supporting Actress, Best Art Direction, and Best Cinematography), five Golden Globes, four Bafta awards, a Grammy Award, and a Laurel Award.
Nach dem enormen Erfolg der vergangenen Jahre wird im Römischen Theater das Ballett in zwei Akten Zorba der Grieche erneut aufgeführt, mit Musik von Mikīs Theodōrakīs und Choreografie von Lorca Massine.
Am 25. und 26. August steht das Ballettensemble der Fondazione Arena auf der Bühne, koordiniert von Gaetano Petrosino, in der Produktion der Fondazione Arena mit den Szenen von Filippo Tonon, der Kostümkoordination von Silvia Bonetti und dem Lichtdesign von Sergio Toffali.
Das Werk, mit dem Originaltitel "Das Leben und die Zeit von Alexis Zorba", aber einfach bekannt als "Zorba der Grieche", ist der bekannteste Roman des griechischen Schriftstellers Nikos Kazantzakis. Er wurde 1946 veröffentlicht und verdankt seinen Ruhm der zwanzig Jahre später vom Regisseur Michael Cacoyannis umgesetzten Verfilmung, mit dem amerikanischen Schauspieler Anthony Quinn in der Rolle von Alexis Zorba und der griechischen Schauspielerin Irene Papas in der Rolle der Witwe. Ikonisch bleibt die Szene, in der der Protagonist am Strand den Sirtaki tanzt, das Stück, das als der Tanz von Zorba bekannt ist und nach der in Griechenland erlangten Berühmtheit zu einem Volkstanz geworden ist.
Der Film wurde für zahlreiche Auszeichnungen nominiert, darunter sechs Oscars (von denen er drei gewinnt: für die beste Nebendarstellerin, das Szenenbild und die Kamera), fünf Golden Globes, vier Baftas, einen Grammy Award und einen Laurel Award.
