Una speciale visita guidata al Museo Miniscalchi-Erizzo nel centro storico di Verona.
Aggirarsi per le sale di un antico palazzo circondati da opere d'arte, ascoltare aneddoti su come si è formata una collezione eclettica, osservare da vicino oggetti rari e misteriosi, stupirsi per non averli mai visti prima…in sintesi, questa visita è un affascinante viaggio nel tempo attraverso cinque secoli, alla scoperta di una casa museo unica.
Il Museo Miniscalchi-Erizzo ha sede in un edificio civile che si trova nel cuore del centro storico di Verona, all’angolo tra via San Mamaso, lungo cui sorge la parte medievale del fabbricato e via G. Garibaldi, dove si apre il cortile d’onore e la realizzazione ottocentesca.
La costruzione del palazzo risale all’ultimo quarto del XV secolo e il progetto è attribuito ad Angelo di Giovanni da Verona (1437-1508). Verso il 1590 la facciata fu affrescata, secondo un gusto molto diffuso nella Verona del Cinquecento. Nel 1880 l’edificio quattrocentesco fu profondamente alterato a seguito della costruzione del maestoso palazzo classicheggiante, su tre piani, costituito da un corpo centrale e due laterali che danno forma ad un ampio cortile.
Il piano nobile appare particolarmente fastoso ed oggi ospita le collezioni d’arte e di archeologia rappresentate dai moltissimi oggetti appartenuti al museo domestico di Ludovico Moscardo (1611-1681), collezionista ed erudito veronese, pervenuto in seguito alle nozze tra Marcantonio Miniscalchi e Teresa Moscardo (1785). Vi sono poi altri nuclei di opere che rimandano a famiglie che storicamente si legarono in parentela con i Miniscalchi, come gli Erizzo e i Pullè.
Tutte le raccolte sono ambientate nel rispetto della dimora signorile che fu abitata dalla famiglia Miniscalchi per cinque secoli, fino al 1977.

The Miniscalchi-Erizzo Museum is located in a civil building located in the heart of the historic center of Verona, at the corner between via San Mamaso, along which stands the medieval part of the building, and via G. Garibaldi, where the courtyard of honor and the nineteenth century construction opens.
The construction of the palace dates back to the last quarter of the 15th century and the design is attributed to Angelo di Giovanni da Verona (1437-1508). Around 1590 the facade was frescoed, according to a very widespread taste in sixteenth-century Verona. In 1880 the 15th century building was profoundly altered following the construction of the majestic classical palace, on three floors, consisting of a central body and two sides that give shape to a large courtyard.
The noble floor appears particularly sumptuous and today houses the collections of art and archaeology represented by the many objects belonging to the domestic museum of Ludovico Moscardo (1611-1681), a collector and scholar from Verona, who arrived after the marriage between Marcantonio Miniscalchi and Teresa Moscardo (1785). There are also other nuclei of works that refer to families that were historically related to the Miniscalchi, such as the Erizzo and the Pullè. All the collections are set in respect of the stately mansion that was inhabited by the Miniscalchi family for five centuries, until 1977.
