Peter Gabriel è un artista eclettico e versatile, anima e voce dei primi Genesis (band che negli anni ’70 caratterizzò l’era del Prog inglese più creativo), e poi, da solista, cantante, compositore e produttore discografico, universalmente considerato un genio della musica contemporanea.
Quattro musicisti appassionati hanno scelto di omaggiare fedelmente il cantante e compositore britannico con The Real World of Peter Gabriel, uno spettacolo musicale che attraverso un’accurata scelta di brani, ripercorre i quasi cinquant’anni di carriera solista soffermandosi in particolare sull’album “So” del 1986, grande successo discografico, ma, allo stesso tempo, opera ricchissima dal punto di vista sonoro e musicale.
Ideato e prodotto dal gruppo, UP! (in onore dell’omonimo album del 2002) è un concerto che pone particolare attenzione all’innovatività degli elementi compositivi introdotti nella musica pop-rock da Gabriel, come l’esplorazione di ritmi africani, i suoni etnici, le stratificazioni di loop e pattern ritmici. Nel concerto vengono impiegati strumenti elettronici e digitali in grado di riprodurre fedelmente le diverse sonorità degli album pubblicati dall’artista, tra i primi ad utilizzare drum machine, sintetizzatori ed effetti sonori poi imitatissimi, applicati alle percussioni.
Lo spettacolo lascia spazio anche ad alcuni momenti di approfondimento per far conoscere al pubblico il percorso straordinario dell’artista, tra linguaggi musicali all’avanguardia e arti visive.
Peter Gabriel is an eclectic and versatile artist, the soul and voice of the early Genesis (a band that characterized the era of the most creative English Prog in the 1970s), and later, as a solo artist, singer, songwriter, and record producer, universally regarded as a genius of contemporary music.
Four passionate musicians have chosen to faithfully pay tribute to the British singer and songwriter with The Real World of Peter Gabriel, a musical show that, through a careful selection of songs, retraces the nearly fifty years of his solo career, focusing particularly on the album “So” from 1986, a huge commercial success, but at the same time, an extraordinarily rich work in terms of sound and music.
Conceived and produced by the group, UP! (in honor of the eponymous 2002 album) is a concert that pays particular attention to the innovative compositional elements introduced into pop-rock music by Gabriel, such as the exploration of African rhythms, ethnic sounds, and the layering of loops and rhythmic patterns. Electronic and digital instruments are used in the concert to faithfully reproduce the different sounds of the albums released by the artist, among the first to use drum machines, synthesizers, and highly imitated sound effects applied to percussion.
The show also allows for some moments of in-depth exploration to familiarize the audience with the artist's extraordinary journey, combining cutting-edge musical languages and visual arts.

Vier leidenschaftliche Musiker haben sich entschieden, den britischen Sänger und Komponisten mit The Real World of Peter Gabriel, einer musikalischen Darbietung, die durch eine sorgfältige Auswahl an Stücken die fast fünfzig Jahre Solo-Karriere nachzeichnet, zu ehren und sich dabei besonders auf das Album “So” aus dem Jahr 1986 zu konzentrieren, das ein großer kommerzieller Erfolg war, aber gleichzeitig eine sehr reiche Klang- und Musiklandschaft bietet.
Das Konzert, konzipiert und produziert von der Gruppe UP! (zu Ehren des gleichnamigen Albums von 2002), legt besonderen Wert auf die Innovationskraft der kompositorischen Elemente, die Gabriel in die Pop-Rock-Musik eingeführt hat, wie die Erkundung afrikanischer Rhythmen, ethnische Klänge, die Schichtung von Loops und rhythmischen Mustern. Im Konzert kommen elektronische und digitale Instrumente zum Einsatz, die in der Lage sind, die verschiedenen Klänge der vom Künstler veröffentlichten Alben originalgetreu wiederzugeben, wobei er einer der Ersten war, die drum machines, Synthesizer und dann oft nachgeahmte Soundeffekte in Verbindung mit Percussion verwendeten.
