Venerdì 10 aprile 2026 alle ore 21.00 nella Chiesa di S. Fermo Maggiore, il Coro dell'Università di Verona presenta il Requiem per San Francesco, evento realizzato in collaborazione tra il Coro dell'Università di Verona, diretto da Marcello Rossi Corradini e il Coro dell’Università di Losanna, diretto da Fruzsina Szuromi.
L'iniziativa si inquadra nel contesto delle celebrazioni per l'ottavo centenario della morte di S. Francesco (1226 - 2026).
Il concerto inizierà con la musica medievale, il canto monodico della Missa pro Defunctis che include la celebre sequenza "Dies Irae", attribuita al francescano Tommaso da Celano, primo biografo del santo.
A seguire l'esecuzione del Requiem op. 9 di Maurice Duruflè del 1947, che riprende i temi gregoriani.
On Friday, April 10, 2026, at 9:00 PM at the Church of S. Fermo Maggiore, the University of Verona Choir presents the Requiem for St. Francis, an event organized in collaboration between the University of Verona Choir, conducted by Marcello Rossi Corradini, and the University of Lausanne Choir, conducted by Fruzsina Szuromi.
The initiative is part of the celebrations for the eighth centenary of the death of St. Francis (1226 - 2026).
The concert will begin with medieval music, the monodic chant of the Missa pro Defunctis which includes the famous sequence "Dies Irae," attributed to the Franciscan Thomas of Celano, the saint's first biographer.
Following this, the performance of Requiem op. 9 by Maurice Duruflé from 1947 will take place, which draws on Gregorian themes.
Am Freitag, den 10. April 2026 um 21.00 Uhr in der Kirche S. Fermo Maggiore, präsentiert der Chor der Universität Verona das Requiem für San Francesco, eine Veranstaltung, die in Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Chor der Universität Verona, dirigiert von Marcello Rossi Corradini, und dem Chor der Universität Lausanne, dirigiert von Fruzsina Szuromi, realisiert wird.
Die Initiative findet im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten zum achthundertjährigen Tod von S. Francesco (1226 - 2026) statt.
Das Konzert beginnt mit mittelalterlicher Musik, dem monodischen Gesang der Missa pro Defunctis, die die berühmte Sequenz "Dies Irae" umfasst, die dem Franziskaner Tommaso da Celano, dem ersten Biografen des Heiligen, zugeschrieben wird.
