In occasione del XII Congresso mondiale su Shakespeare (Planetary Shakespeare, Verona dal 20 al 26 luglio 2026) il Conservatorio di Verona e il Gruppo Skené dell'Università di Verona, con un bando internazionale, hanno invitato artisti di tutto il mondo a presentare proposte per un testo creativo da rappresentarsi con l'accompagnamento di musiche originali.
Questa iniziativa ha mirato a fondere musica e narrazione, offrendo un'esibizione unica in omaggio all'eredità senza tempo di Shakespeare, esplorando temi, motivi o interpretazioni ispirati alla sua opera.
E' risultato vincitore il gruppo Shakespeare South di Perth (Australia), guidato da Alys Daroy, con il testo "Il Vento" ispirato a La tempesta di Shakespeare, in cui viene reinventata l’isola incantata come un paesaggio conteso e in continua trasformazione ambientale.
Lo spettacolo verrà proposto, in lingua inglese con sopratitoli in italiano, nell'Auditorium Nuovo Montemezzi giovedì 23 luglio 2026 alle ore 21:00 e domenica 26 luglio 2026 alle ore 18:00.
L'ingresso è libero fino a esaurimento dei posti disponibili.
On the occasion of the XII World Congress on Shakespeare (Planetary Shakespeare, Verona from July 20 to July 26, 2026), the Conservatory of Verona and the Skené Group of the University of Verona, through an international call, invited artists from around the world to submit proposals for a creative text to be performed with original music accompaniment.
This initiative aimed to blend music and narrative, offering a unique performance in homage to Shakespeare's timeless legacy, exploring themes, motifs, or interpretations inspired by his work.
The winning group was Shakespeare South from Perth (Australia), led by Alys Daroy, with the text "The Wind," inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest, in which the enchanted island is reimagined as a contested landscape undergoing constant environmental transformation.
The performance will be presented in English with Italian subtitles at the Nuovo Montemezzi Auditorium on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
Admission is free until all available seats are filled.
Im Rahmen des XII. Weltkongresses zu Shakespeare (Planetary Shakespeare, Verona vom 20. bis 26. Juli 2026) haben das Konservatorium von Verona und die Gruppe Skené der Universität von Verona internationale Künstler eingeladen, Vorschläge für einen kreativen Text einzureichen, der mit originaler Musik aufgeführt werden soll.
Diese Initiative zielte darauf ab, Musik und Erzählung zu vereinen und eine einzigartige Darbietung zu schaffen, die das zeitlose Erbe Shakespeares würdigt und Themen, Motive oder Interpretationen erkundet, die von seinem Werk inspiriert sind.
Gewinner ist die Gruppe Shakespeare South aus Perth (Australien), geleitet von Alys Daroy, mit dem Text "Der Wind", inspiriert von Shakespeares Der Sturm, in dem die verzauberte Insel als umkämpftes und sich ständig wandelndes Landschaftsbild neu interpretiert wird.
Die Vorstellung wird in englischer Sprache mit italienischen Übertiteln am Donnerstag, den 23. Juli 2026 um 21:00 Uhr und Sonntag, den 26. Juli 2026 um 18:00 Uhr im Auditorium Nuovo Montemezzi angeboten.
Der Eintritt ist frei, solange Plätze verfügbar sind.
