L'unica tappa italiana della decima edizione del Premio Prix Pictet, Human, sarà al Palazzo della Gran Guardia di Verona, che ha ospitato la mostra anche nel 2021, per l'ottava edizione dedicata alla speranza.
Ogni edizione del Premio affronta un tema specifico legato alla sostenibilità.
Questa decima edizione è stata preceduta da: Water, Hearth, Growth, Power, Consumption, Disorder, Space, Fire e Hope.
Il tema attuale è uno studio delle conseguenze che le diverse azioni umane come creatività, innovazione e imprenditorialità hanno sulle condizioni di vita nel pianeta.
Isabelle von Ribbentrop, Direttore esecutivo del Prix Pictet, afferma: “La nostra scommessa con la posterità è che l'ingegno umano, l'intelligenza e la resilienza dello spirito siano abbastanza potenti da insistere su un futuro molto diverso per la storia umana”
La vincitrice della 10a edizione del Prix Pictet è l'indiana Gauri Gill, che da oltre vent’anni si dedica alle comunità che vivono nel deserto dell’India ed è portavoce degli esponenti dell’arte indigena del Maharashtra.
Nel contesto del Prix Pictet, è stato inaugurato il premio People’s Choice Award, che consente al pubblico di votare la propria serie di scatti preferita.
Il vincitore è stato il colombiano Federico Ríos Escobar, che ritrae la straziante realtà dei bambini sudamericani figli di migranti che intraprendono l’insidioso viaggio nel Corridoio del Darién, un arduo passaggio al confine tra Colombia e Panama.
The only Italian stop of the tenth edition of the Prix Pictet, Human, will be at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona, which also hosted the exhibition in 2021, for the eighth edition dedicated to hope.
Each edition of the Prize addresses a specific theme related to sustainability.
This tenth edition has been preceded by: Water, Hearth, Growth, Power, Consumption, Disorder, Space, Fire and Hope.
The current theme is a study of the consequences of various human actions such as creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship on living conditions on the planet.
Isabelle von Ribbentrop, Executive Director of the Prix Pictet, states: “Our bet with posterity is that human ingenuity, intelligence, and resilience of spirit are strong enough to insist on a very different future for human history.”
The winner of the 10th edition of the Prix Pictet is Indian Gauri Gill, who has been dedicated for over twenty years to the communities living in the deserts of India and is a spokesperson for representatives of indigenous art from Maharashtra.
In the context of the Prix Pictet, the People’s Choice Award has been inaugurated, allowing the public to vote for their favorite series of photographs.
The winner was Colombian Federico Ríos Escobar, who captures the heartbreaking reality of South American children of migrants undertaking the perilous journey through the Darién Gap, a difficult crossing at the border between Colombia and Panama.
