La città di Verona rinnova l’annuale appuntamento con i festeggiamenti di Santa Lucia, la santa siciliana che, secondo tradizione, nella notte tra il 12 e il 13 dicembre, in groppa al suo fedele asinello porta dolci e squisitezze ai bimbi buoni e carbone a quelli cattivi.
Per l’occasione, dal 10 al 13 dicembre 2025 Piazza Bra ospita, come ogni anno, i coloratissimi banchèti de Santa Lucia, dove i visitatori potranno trovare un’ampia scelta di dolciumi e ghiottonerie.
Sono presenti in Piazza Bra e via Roma, nel cuore di Verona, circa 190 banchi di venditori ambulanti, provenienti da tutta Italia, che espongono i loro prodotti tipici e artigianali, e offrono un'occasione imperdibile per trovare alcuni articoli particolari.
La tradizione di festeggiare Santa Lucia risale al XIII secolo, quando la città fu colpita da una pericolosa malattia che andò ad attaccare soprattutto i bambini, causando gravi danni alla loro vista. I genitori, invocando la santa protettrice degli occhi, portavano i figli in pellegrinaggio a piedi nudi e, secondo la credenza, a grazia ricevuta la Santa avrebbe riempito le loro scarpe di dolciumi.
Verona rispetta da sempre quest’antica tradizione: durante le giornate di festa, infatti, il centro città si riempie di stand e bancarelle dove si possono comprare regali di ogni tipo, dai prodotti di artigianato alle specialità gastronomiche.
The city of Verona renews the annual appointment with the celebrations of Saint Lucia, the Sicilian saint who, according to tradition, on the night between December 12 and 13, rides on her faithful donkey bringing sweets and delicacies to good children and coal to the naughty ones.
For the occasion, from December 10 to 13, 2025, Piazza Bra hosts, as every year, the colorful Santa Lucia stalls, where visitors can find a wide selection of candies and treats.
There are about 190 stalls of street vendors in Piazza Bra and via Roma, in the heart of Verona, coming from all over Italy, displaying their typical and artisanal products, and offering a unique opportunity to find some special items.
The tradition of celebrating Saint Lucia dates back to the 13th century, when the city was hit by a dangerous disease that primarily affected children, causing severe damage to their eyesight. Parents, invoking the saint protector of the eyes, would take their children on a barefoot pilgrimage, and, as the belief goes, once grace was received, the Saint would fill their shoes with sweets.
Verona has always respected this ancient tradition: during the festive days, indeed, the city center fills with stands and stalls where gifts of every kind can be bought, from artisan products to gastronomic specialties.

Zu diesem Anlass findet vom 10. bis 13. Dezember 2025 auf dem Piazza Bra wie jedes Jahr der farbenfrohe Santa Lucia Markt statt, wo die Besucher eine große Auswahl an Süßigkeiten und Leckereien finden können.
Auf dem Piazza Bra und in der via Roma, im Herzen von Verona, sind etwa190 Stände von Straßenverkäufern vertreten, die aus ganz Italien kommen und ihre typischen und handwerklichen Produkte ausstellen, und bieten eine unverzichtbare Gelegenheit, einige besondere Artikel zu finden.
Die Tradition, Santa Lucia zu feiern, stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, als die Stadt von einer gefährlichen Krankheit heimgesucht wurde, die vor allem die Kinder angriff und ihnen ernsthaft das Augenlicht raubte. Die Eltern, die die schützende Heilige der Augen anrufend, brachten ihre Kinder barfuß auf Pilgerfahrt und, gemäß dem Glauben, würde die Heilige, nach erhaltener Gnade, ihre Schuhe mit Süßigkeiten füllen.
Verona respektiert seit jeher diese alte Tradition: Während der Festtage füllt sich das Stadtzentrum mit Ständen und Marktständen, wo man Geschenke aller Art kaufen kann, von handwerklichen Produkten bis hin zu gastronomischen Spezialitäten.
