Dal 30 luglio al 10 settembre 2026 è in scena con 7 rappresentazioni l’opera “regina” dell’Arena di Verona, Aida, il capolavoro di Giuseppe Verdi sulla principessa d'Etiopia schiava in Egitto, proposto nella versione aurea ed onirica immaginata da Franco Zeffirelli e arricchito dagli iconici costumi di Anna Anni.
Composta nel 1869 in occasione dell'inaugurazione del Canale di Suez, Aida di Giuseppe Verdi narra le vicende amorose della giovane Aida, figlia del re d'Etiopia ma resa schiava al seguito di Amneris, figlia del faraone d'Egitto. Innamorata (e ricambiata) del valoroso Radamès, promesso sposo ad Amneris, Aida lo seguirà fino alla morte tragica, dimostrandogli amore e fedeltà.
La prima assoluta al mondo avvenne al Teatro dell’Opera al Cairo, in Egitto, il 24 Dicembre 1871, diretta da Giovanni Bottesini. La prima italiana e di conseguenza europea, venne rappresentata l’8 febbraio 1872, al Teatro alla Scala di Milano.

From July 30 to September 10, 2026, the "queen" of the Arena di Verona, Aida, the masterpiece by Giuseppe Verdi about the Ethiopian princess enslaved in Egypt, will be staged with 7 performances, presented in the golden and dreamlike version imagined by Franco Zeffirelli and enriched by the iconic costumes of Anna Anni.
Composed in 1869 for the inauguration of the Suez Canal, Giuseppe Verdi's Aida narrates the love affairs of the young Aida, daughter of the king of Ethiopia but made a slave following Amneris, daughter of the Pharaoh of Egypt. In love (and reciprocated) with the valiant Radamès, who is betrothed to Amneris, Aida will follow him until his tragic death, demonstrating love and loyalty.
The world premiere took place at the Cairo Opera House in Egypt on December 24, 1871, conducted by Giovanni Bottesini. The Italian premiere and thereby the European premiere was performed on February 8, 1872, at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

September 2026 wird das "Königin" Werk der Arena von Verona, Aida, das Meisterwerk von Giuseppe Verdi über die Prinzessin von Äthiopien, die als Sklavin in Ägypten lebt, in einer goldenen und traumhaften Version unter der Regie von Franco Zeffirelli und bereichert durch die ikonischen Kostüme von Anna Anni, aufgeführt.
Komponiert im Jahr 1869 anlässlich der Eröffnung des Suezkanals, erzählt Aida von Giuseppe Verdi die Liebesgeschichte der jungen Aida, Tochter des Königs von Äthiopien, die jedoch als Sklavin Amneris, der Tochter des Pharaos von Ägypten, dient. Verliebt (und von ihm erwidert) in den tapferen Radamès, der mit Amneris verlobt ist, wird Aida ihm bis zum tragischen Tod folgen und ihm Liebe und Treue zeigen.
Die Uraufführung der Welt fand am 24. Dezember 1871 im Opernhaus von Kairo, Ägypten, unter der Leitung von Giovanni Bottesini statt. Die erste italienische und damit europäische Aufführung fand am 8. Februar 1872 im Teatro alla Scala in Mailand statt.
