La mostra Spiral Economy si sviluppa come un dialogo tra l’artista franco-svizzero Julian Charrière (*Morges, 1987, vive e lavora a Berlino) e Antonio Canova, attraverso gli spazi del Museo Correr, svelando la poesia della materialità.
Charrière incontra le forme idealizzate di Canova: il marmo come corpo e fantasma, contenitore di bellezza e testimone di un tempo profondo. Il materiale stesso è al centro della scena: ogni fessura, venatura e tessitura geologica porta in sé la memoria di antichi mari e pressioni metamorfiche. Laddove il marmo di Canova tende alla sembianza della carne umana, Charrière evoca un’altra verità: la pietra come corpo vivente a pieno titolo, che non ha bisogno di somiglianza umana per esistere. Spiral Economy invita i visitatori a riflettere su ogni tentativo di misurare o padroneggiare il tempo e, in ultima analisi, a lasciarsi assorbire in durate planetarie più profonde, dove la materia stessa diventa la suprema custode del tempo. Nelle storiche Gallerie Canova del Museo Correr, la mostra svela i corpi luminosi di Canova, dove il marmo emerge come avatar del tempo, recando le tracce delle lente trasformazioni della Terra.
La mostra è visitabile dal 30 aprile al 22 novembre 2026 secondo gli orari e le modalità di accesso al museo.

The exhibition Spiral Economy unfolds as a dialogue between the Franco-Swiss artist Julian Charrière (Morges, 1987, living and working in Berlin) and Antonio Canova, through the spaces of Museo Correr, revealing the poetry of materiality.
Charrière meets Canova’s idealized forms: marble as body and phantom, a vessel of beauty and a witness to profound time. The material itself takes center stage: every fissure, vein, and geological texture carries within it the memory of ancient seas and metamorphic pressures. Where Canova’s marble leans toward the semblance of human flesh, Charrière evokes another truth: stone as a living body in its own right, needing no human likeness to exist. Spiral Economy invites visitors to reflect on every attempt to measure or master time and to ultimately be absorbed into deeper, planetary durations, where matter itself becomes the supreme guardian of time. In the historic Canova Galleries of the Museo Correr, the exhibition uncovers Canova’s luminous bodies, where marble emerges as an avatar of time, bearing the traces of the Earth’s slow transformations.
The exhibition can be visited from 30 April to 22 November 2026 according to the museum’s opening hours and access conditions.

Die Ausstellung Spiral Economy entwickelt sich als Dialog zwischen dem französisch-schweizerischen Künstler Julian Charrière (*Morges, 1987, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin) und Antonio Canova, durch die Räume des Museo Correr und enthüllt die Poesie der Materialität.
Charrière trifft auf die idealisierten Formen von Canova: der Marmor als Körper und Gespenst, Behälter von Schönheit und Zeuge einer tiefen Zeit. Das Material selbst steht im Mittelpunkt der Szene: jede Ritze, Maserung und geologische Textur trägt die Erinnerung an alte Meere und metamorphe Drucke in sich. Wo der Marmor von Canova die Erscheinung menschlicher Haut annimmt, evoziert Charrière eine andere Wahrheit: der Stein als lebendiger Körper, der keine menschliche Ähnlichkeit braucht, um zu existieren. Spiral Economy lädt die Besucher ein, über jeden Versuch nachzudenken, Zeit zu messen oder zu beherrschen und letztlich, sich in tiefere planetarische Zeiträume absorbieren zu lassen, in denen das Material selbst zum höchsten Hüter der Zeit wird. In den historischen Gallerien Canova des Museo Correr enthüllt die Ausstellung die strahlenden Körper von Canova, wo der Marmor als Avatar der Zeit auftaucht und die Spuren der langsamen Transformationen der Erde trägt.
Die Ausstellung ist vom 30. April bis 22. November 2026 nach den Öffnungszeiten und Zugangsmodalitäten des Museums zu besuchen.
