Un’icona del rock in un luogo unico: Patti Smith sceglie Piazza San Marco a Venezia per l’unica data estiva in Italia nel 2025, il 7 luglio, nell’ambito del Festival della Bellezza.
La carismatica artista statunitense in un’atmosfera indimenticabile proporrà i suoi capolavori, canzoni che hanno fatto la storia del rock e connesso l’immaginario artistico e poetico di più generazioni.

Artista eclettica, musicista, poetessa, attrice, fotografa e visual artist, Patti Smith è tra le più affascinanti icone del panorama artistico contemporaneo. È stata nominata più volte ai Grammy e ai Golden Globes e il documentario di Steven Sebring del 2008, Patti Smith: Dream of Life, ha ricevuto una nomination agli Emmy. Ha inoltre ricevuto il prestigioso National Book Award 2010 per il suo bestseller Just Kids, che racconta la profonda amicizia con il fotografo Robert Mapplethorpe e la loro collaborazione artistica. Narrativa, poesia, fotografia sono i temi dei suoi libri: Witt, Babel, Woolgathering, The Coral Sea, Auguries of Innocence, Collected Lyrics, M Train, Devotion, Year of the Monkey, A Book of Days. Tra il novero di onorificenze internazionali, il titolo di Commendatore dell’Ordine delle Arti e delle Lettere del Ministero della Cultura francese. Nel 2016 andò lei a Stoccolma a ritirare il premio Nobel per la Letteratura assegnato a Bob Dylan cantando A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.
L’evento “Patti Smith in Venice” è parte del programma della XII edizione del Festival della Bellezza che nel 2025 ha per tema “La Meraviglia”. Concepito intorno all’idea di “Arte nell’Arte”, un unicum a livello internazionale, il Festival della Bellezza andrà in scena in 30 luoghi simbolo del patrimonio storico-artistico italiano dal VI secolo a.C. al Novecento. Promosso dalla Regione Veneto tra i “Grandi Eventi”, è organizzato dall’associazione Idem con l’ideazione e la direzione artistica di Alcide Marchioro. An eclectic artist, musician, poet, actress, photographer and visual artist, Patti Smith is one of the most fascinating icons of the contemporary artistic scene. She has been nominated several times for the Grammys and the Golden Globes and Steven Sebring's 2008 documentary, Patti Smith: Dream of Life, received an Emmy nomination. She also received the prestigious 2010 National Book Award for her bestseller Just Kids, which recounts her deep friendship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe and their artistic collaboration. The event “Patti Smith in Venice” is part of the program of the XII edition of the Festival della Bellezza which in 2025 has as its theme “La Meraviglia”. Conceived around the idea of “Art in Art”, a unique event at an international level, the Festival della Bellezza will be staged in 30 symbolic places of the Italian historical-artistic heritage from the 6th century BC to the 20th century. Promoted by the Veneto Region among the “Major Events”, it is organized by the Idem association with the idea and artistic direction of Alcide Marchioro.
