Un capolavoro di energia giovanile, esuberanza creativa e poesia senza tempo: l’Ottetto per archi op. 20 di Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy rivive grazie al talento fresco e già straordinario degli studenti dell’Accademia Stauffer di Cremona, una delle eccellenze italiane nella formazione dei migliori strumentisti ad arco.
Fondata nel 1985 dalla Fondazione Stauffer — istituzione creata nel 1970 dal mecenate italo-svizzero Walter Stauffer — l’Accademia è oggi un punto di riferimento per chi sogna di diventare interprete di altissimo livello, custodendo e rinnovando la grande tradizione della liuteria e della musica cremonese.
Questo concerto è un’occasione preziosa per lasciarsi trasportare dall’entusiasmo dei giovani musicisti del Quartetto Rilke e del Quartetto di Genova che, insieme, daranno voce a uno dei più straordinari esempi di musica da camera mai scritti: un ottetto che è slancio, luce, eleganza e ardore, composto da un Mendelssohn appena sedicenne ma già geniale.
In programma inoltre il Quartetto per archi n. 7 in fa diesis minore op. 108 di Dmitrij Šostakovič, caratterizzato da un’atmosfera lirica e introspettiva e dalla presenza di elementi grotteschi e contrasti tipici dello stile del compositore, con una predominante componente ritmica, e Langsamer Satz, opera giovanile di Anton Webern, che combina elementi della tradizione romantica con intuizioni che anticipano la musica del XX secolo, caratterizzata da un’intensa espressività e da un raffinato utilizzo del materiale musicale.
Un appuntamento da non perdere per chi desidera vivere la magia dell’incontro tra la grande musica e il futuro che cresce.

A masterpiece of youthful energy, creative exuberance, and timeless poetry: the Octet for strings Op. 20 by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy comes to life thanks to the fresh and already extraordinary talent of the students of the Stauffer Academy of Cremona, one of Italy's excellences in training the best string players.
Founded in 1985 by the Stauffer Foundation — an institution created in 1970 by the Italian-Swiss patron Walter Stauffer — the Academy is today a reference point for those dreaming of becoming a top-level interpreter, preserving and renewing the great tradition of lutherie and Cremonese music.
This concert is a precious opportunity to be carried away by the enthusiasm of the young musicians of the Rilke Quartet and the Genoa Quartet who, together, will give voice to one of the most extraordinary examples of chamber music ever written: an octet that is impulse, light, elegance, and ardor, composed by a Mendelssohn just sixteen but already genius.
Also on the program is the String Quartet No. 7 in F-sharp minor, Op. 108 by Dmitrij Shostakovich, characterized by a lyrical and introspective atmosphere and the presence of grotesque elements and contrasts typical of the composer’s style, with a predominant rhythmic component, and Langsamer Satz, a youthful work by Anton Webern, which combines elements of the romantic tradition with insights that anticipate 20th-century music, characterized by intense expressiveness and refined use of musical material.

Ein Meisterwerk aus jugendlicher Energie, kreativer Exuberanz und zeitloser Poesie: das Oktett für Streicher op. 20 von Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy lebt dank des frischen und bereits außergewöhnlichen Talents der Studenten der Accademia Stauffer in Cremona wieder auf, einer der italienischen Exzellenzen in der Ausbildung der besten Streichinstrumentenspieler.
Gegründet im Jahr 1985 von der Fondazione Stauffer — einer Institution, die 1970 von dem italo-schweizerischen Mäzen Walter Stauffer ins Leben gerufen wurde — ist die Akademie heute ein Bezugspunkt für alle, die davon träumen, einen Höchstgrad an künstlerischer Interpretation zu erreichen, und bewahrt sowie erneuert die große Tradition der Geigenbaukunst und der Musik aus Cremona.
Dieses Konzert ist eine wertvolle Gelegenheit, sich von der Begeisterung der jungen Musiker des Quartetto Rilke und des Quartetto di Genova mitreißen zu lassen, die zusammen einer der außergewöhnlichsten Beispiele der Kammermusik, die je geschrieben wurde, Stimme verleihen: ein Oktett, das Schwung, Licht, Eleganz und Leidenschaft verkörpert, komponiert von einem Mendelssohn, der gerade mal sechzehn, aber bereits genial war.
Außerdem auf dem Programm steht das Streichquartett Nr. 7 in fis-Moll op. 108 von Dmitrij Šostakovič, das durch eine lyrische und introspektive Atmosphäre sowie durch groteske Elemente und Kontraste, typisch für den Stil des Komponisten, gekennzeichnet ist, wobei eine dominante rhythmische Komponente vorhanden ist, und Langsamer Satz, ein Frühwerk von Anton Webern, das Elemente der romantischen Tradition mit Einsichten kombiniert, die die Musik des 20. Jahrhunderts vorwegnehmen, geprägt von intensiver Ausdruckskraft und einem raffinierten Umgang mit dem musikalischen Material.
Ein Termin, den man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte, für diejenigen, die die Magie der Begegnung zwischen großer Musik und der sich entwickelnden Zukunft erleben möchten.
