L’attrice e regista Greta Scarano con l’attore Nicolas Maupas condurranno le serate di apertura e di chiusura, in occasione della quale saranno annunciati i Leoni e gli altri premi ufficiali.
Quest’anno i Leoni d’oro alla carriera sono stati attribuiti all’attore, regista e produttore statunitense George Clooney (Jay Kelly, Syriana, Good Night and Good Luck) artista completo e carismatico, appassionato e originale, che ha saputo trasformare una vocazione profonda in una delle parabole più luminose del cinema contemporaneo, e all’attrice statunitense Ellen Burstyn (L'esorcista, Alice non abita più qui, Interstellar), interprete di rara intensità e verità, che ha attraversato oltre cinquant'anni di cinema americano restituendo profondità e complessità a personaggi femminili indimenticabili, capaci di incarnare le contraddizioni e le trasformazioni della donna contemporanea.
Ink, diretto dal regista premio Oscar® e premio BAFTA Danny Boyle (28 anni dopo, Trainspotting, The Millionaire) e interpretato da Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce e Claire Foy, sarà il film d’apertura (mercoledì 2 settembre), in prima mondiale in concorso.
In omaggio al regista veneziano Tinto Brass, genio anticonformista del cinema italiano, sarà Col cuore in gola (1967) il film della serata di Preapertura di martedì 1 settembre in Sala Darsena al Lido di Venezia. Il film sarà presentato in prima mondiale in versione restaurata digitale 4K.
Actress and director Greta Scarano along with actor Nicolas Maupas will host the opening and closing nights, during which the Lions and other official awards will be announced.
This year, the Golden Lions for Lifetime Achievement have been awarded to American actor, director, and producer George Clooney (Jay Kelly, Syriana, Good Night and Good Luck), a complete and charismatic artist, passionate and original, who has managed to transform a profound vocation into one of the brightest stories in contemporary cinema, and to American actress Ellen Burstyn (The Exorcist, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Interstellar), a performer of rare intensity and truth, who has traversed over fifty years of American cinema giving depth and complexity to unforgettable female characters capable of embodying the contradictions and transformations of contemporary woman.
Ink, directed by Oscar® and BAFTA award-winning director Danny Boyle (28 Years Later, Trainspotting, The Millionaire) and starring Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy, will be the opening film (Wednesday, September 2), having its world premiere in competition.
In homage to Venetian director Tinto Brass, unconventional genius of Italian cinema, the film Col cuore in gola (1967) will be the Pre-Opening night feature on Tuesday, September 1 at the Sala Darsena in Venice. The film will be shown in its world premiere in a restored digital 4K version.
Die Schauspielerin und Regisseurin Greta Scarano wird zusammen mit dem Schauspieler Nicolas Maupas die Eröffnungs- und Abschlussabende moderieren, bei denen die Löwen und andere offizielle Preise angekündigt werden.
In diesem Jahr wurden die Goldenen Löwen für das Lebenswerk dem Schauspieler, Regisseur und Produzenten George Clooney (Jay Kelly, Syriana, Good Night and Good Luck) verliehen, einem vielseitigen und charismatischen Künstler, leidenschaftlich und originell, der es verstanden hat, eine tiefe Berufung in eine der hellsten Parabeln des zeitgenössischen Kinos zu verwandeln, und der amerikanischen Schauspielerin Ellen Burstyn (Der Exorzist, Alice lebt hier nicht mehr, Interstellar), einer Darstellerin von seltener Intensität und Wahrheit, die über fünf Jahrzehnte des amerikanischen Kinos hinweg unvergesslichen weiblichen Charakteren Tiefe und Komplexität verliehen hat und in der Lage ist, die Widersprüche und Transformationen der modernen Frau zu verkörpern.
