Between Heaven and Earth

La mostra, a cura di Chiara Bertola, vuole ricordare il maestro dell’arte concettuale, geniale sperimentatore della poesia e delle potenzialità espressive dei materiali nello spazio espositivo, celebrato come il più importante artista russo, naturalizzato statunitense, del XX secolo. 

Per la prima volta alcune installazioni storiche dei Kabakov dialogheranno con gli ambienti antichi e le collezioni d’arte del Museo della Fondazione, diventando interventi site specific pensati per l’ambiente che li accoglie, come è la natura del programma di arte contemporanea ‘Conservare il futuro’ della Querini Stampalia.

A year after the death of Ilya Kabakov, Fondazione Querini Stampalia and Ilya and Emilia Kabakov Foundation pay tribute to him in Venice. 

The exhibition, curated by Chiara Bertola, remembers one of the masters of conceptual art, a brilliant experimenter of the poetry and the expressive potential of materials, celebrated as the most important Russian – naturalized American – artist of the 20th century. 

For the first time some of the Kabakovs’ historical installations will dialogue with the rooms and the collections of the Querini Stampalia Museum. Their works become site-specific interventions designed for the environment that hosts them, as is the nature of the Querini Stampalia’s contemporary art program 'Conserving the future'.
