Il “Concorso Rassegna dei Volti Lignei dei Carnevali di Montagna” nasce nel 1992, nel bellissimo e suggestivo contesto del borgo di Fornesighe, dopo la messa al bando del precedente concorso "Volti in legno secondo la tradizione zoldana" del 1991. Già dal primo anno, il '92 la manifestazione richiama intagliatori da tutto il Veneto e non solo, gli artisti del legno che partecipano con le loro maschere alla rassegna e danno lustro all'iniziativa sono in continuo aumento soprattutto da tutto l'arco alpino.
Una giuria di specialisti giudica i volti e stabilisce il vincitore, lanciando poi il tema della prossima edizione. Infatti il soggetto a cui le opere devono essere ispirate cambia di volta in volta, permettendo in questo modo a chi le esegue di esprimersi su più fronti e di toccare temi sempre attuali.
Per l’edizione 2026 il tema scelto è "le Olimpiadi"
Il giorno 1/02/26, al termine del corteo del Carnevale della Gnaga, avverrà la premiazione del concorso.

The “Rassegna dei Volti Lignei dei Carnevali di Montagna” competition was established in 1992, in the beautiful and evocative setting of the village of Fornesighe, after the discontinuation of the previous contest "Volti in legno secondo la tradizione zoldana" of 1991. Even from the first year, '92, the event attracts carvers from all over Veneto and beyond; the wood artists who participate with their masks in the showcase and enhance the initiative are continually increasing, especially from throughout the Alpine region.
A jury of specialists evaluates the faces and determines the winner, then launching the theme for the next edition. Indeed, the subject that the works must be inspired by changes from one edition to the next, allowing those who create them to express themselves on multiple fronts and to touch on always relevant themes.
For the 2026 edition, the chosen theme is "the Olympics."
The award ceremony for the contest will take place on 1/02/26, at the end of the Gnaga Carnival parade.

Ex Latteria di Fornesighe, Val di Zoldo
Der “Wettbewerb der Holzmasken der Karnevale der Berge” entstand 1992 im wunderschönen und suggestiven Kontext des Dorfes Fornesighe, nach der Einstellung des vorherigen Wettbewerbs "Gesichter aus Holz nach der zoldanischen Tradition" von 1991. Bereits im ersten Jahr, 1992, zieht die Veranstaltung Schnitzer aus ganz Venetien und darüber hinaus an; die Holzarbeiter, die mit ihren Masken an der Ausstellung teilnehmen und die Initiative bereichern, nehmen insbesondere aus dem gesamten Alpenraum stetig zu.
Eine Jury von Fachleuten bewertet die Gesichter und ermittelt den Gewinner, der dann das Thema der nächsten Ausgabe bekannt gibt. Tatsächlich ändert sich das Thema, an dem sich die Werke orientieren müssen, von Mal zu Mal, was es den Ausführenden ermöglicht, sich auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen auszudrücken und immer aktuelle Themen zu behandeln.
Für die Ausgabe 2026 wurde das Thema "die Olympischen Spiele" gewählt.
Am 1.02.26, nach dem Umzug des Karnevals der Gnaga, findet die Preisverleihung des Wettbewerbs statt.
