Descrizione

The poetry of Francesco Petrarca enters the program of Tomaso 700 with the meeting “The Canzoniere of Petrarca between realism and imagination”, conducted by Giorgio De Conti and enriched by theatrical readings in collaboration with Tema Cultura.

The meeting explores the literary revolution introduced by the Canzoniere, in which the focus shifts to the poet's interiority and his personal conflict. At the center is not only an external story but a self that observes and narrates its own feelings, divided between the earthly desire represented by Laura and spiritual aspiration.

Giorgio De Conti, former professor of Italian and Latin literature, guides the audience in reading this transformation of poetry, highlighting the relationship between experience, memory, and imagination.

Thus, the conference expands the narrative of the fourteenth century proposed by the review, alongside painting and music, introducing one of the fundamental voices of medieval Italian literature.
