Dal 29 marzo al 2 novembre 2025, il Museo Civico Luigi Bailo di Treviso ospita la mostra Hokusai – L’acqua e il segreto della Grande Onda, a cura di Paolo Linetti. L’esposizione esplora il percorso artistico del maestro dell’ukiyo-e, ponendo al centro La Grande Onda, una delle immagini più celebri al mondo. Il tema dell’acqua, elemento simbolico e narrativo, viene analizzato attraverso un corpus di circa 150 opere che permettono di seguire l’evoluzione della sua tecnica e del suo stile.
Il percorso espositivo ripercorre le diverse fasi di studio che hanno portato alla realizzazione dell’onda perfetta, rivelando il connubio tra sensibilità artistica e rigore scientifico. Il confronto con altri maestri giapponesi dell’epoca, tra cui Kunisada, Utamaro e Kuniyoshi, evidenzia l’originalità della sua grafica e l’impatto che il suo linguaggio visivo ha avuto sulle generazioni successive.
La mostra offre inoltre un’analisi approfondita della tecnica compositiva di Katsushika, mettendo in luce i legami con l’arte europea rinascimentale e le intuizioni geometriche alla base delle sue opere. Un’occasione unica per scoprire il metodo costruttivo di un artista che ha saputo coniugare tradizione e innovazione, influenzando tanto l’arte orientale quanto quella occidentale.
From March 29 to November 2, 2025, the Luigi Bailo Civic Museum in Treviso hosts the exhibition Hokusai – Water and the Secret of the Great Wave, curated by Paolo Linetti. The exhibition explores the artistic journey of the master of ukiyo-e, focusing on The Great Wave, one of the most famous images in the world. The theme of water, a symbolic and narrative element, is analyzed through a corpus of about 150 works that allow us to trace the evolution of his technique and style.
The exhibition path retraces the different study phases that led to the realization of the perfect wave, revealing the combination of artistic sensitivity and scientific rigor. The comparison with other Japanese masters of the time, including Kunisada, Utamaro, and Kuniyoshi, highlights the originality of his graphics and the impact that his visual language had on subsequent generations.
The exhibition also offers a thorough analysis of Katsushika's compositional technique, highlighting the connections with Renaissance European art and the geometric insights underlying his works. A unique opportunity to discover the constructive method of an artist who managed to combine tradition and innovation, influencing both Eastern and Western art.
Vom 29. März bis zum 2. November 2025 wird das Civico Museo Luigi Bailo in Treviso die Ausstellung Hokusai – Das Wasser und das Geheimnis der Großen Welle, kuratiert von Paolo Linetti, präsentieren. Die Ausstellung untersucht den künstlerischen Werdegang des Masters des ukiyo-e und stellt Die Große Welle, eines der berühmtesten Bilder der Welt, in den Mittelpunkt. Das Thema Wasser, ein symbolisches und narrativ zentrales Element, wird durch ein Korpus von etwa 150 Werken analysiert, die es ermöglichen, die Entwicklung seiner Technik und seines Stils nachzuvollziehen.
Der Ausstellungsparcours verfolgt die verschiedenen Phasen des Studiums, die zur Schaffung der perfekten Welle geführt haben, und offenbart die Verbindung zwischen künstlerischer Sensibilität und wissenschaftlicher Strenge.
