Brasile, 1977. Marcelo è in fuga. Raggiunge Recife durante la settimana del Carnevale per riabbracciare il figlio, ma scopre presto che la città non è l’ameno rifugio che aveva immaginato: sotto la superficie festosa pulsa una realtà soffocante, carica di tensione, violenza e pericolo.
