XXIII° GIORNATA NAZIONALE DEL TREKKING
URBANO
“San Francesco 1226-2026: sulle tracce dell'essenziale”
31 ottobre 2026

XXIII° NATIONAL DAY OF TREKKING
URBAN
“San Francesco 1226-2026: in the footsteps of the essential”
October 31, 2026

THIENE, the essence of water between history and daily life.

A trek that tells the bond between the city and water to show how Thiene has transformed this essential resource into infrastructure, intertwining industriousness, use, power, and beauty.
The journey begins admiring the Fountain of Bacchus and Temperance in front of the Town Hall, the Bull Fountain, the Buzzi Fountain, and the Fountain in Piazza Chilesotti, whose construction is linked to the history of the municipal aqueduct. The route then extends to the wells and urban fountains: that of Piazza Martiri della Libertà, the Fountains of Via Trieste, the Capitel with fountain of Via San Gaetano, and the nineteenth-century fountain of Villa Fabris.
The key points of the trek are the municipal icehouse, an underground environment for refrigeration, and the Castle of Thiene, where water becomes “technology” and “landscape,” between the Thiene irrigation canal, which supplies the gardens and representative spaces, the evocative Vera da Pozzo, and the ancient icehouse, a memory of the historic pond, a place of wonder and refreshment.

XXIII. NATIONALER TREKKINGTAG
STÄDTISCH
“San Francesco 1226-2026: auf den Spuren des Wesentlichen”
31. Oktober 2026
