Ogni anno, alla fine di Settembre, il Palio del Ruzante rievoca usi e costumi degli antichi abitanti della Riviera del Brenta, che su grosse barche trinate da uomini e cavalli trasportavano tra Padova e Venezia viveri e materiali. Il protagonista del Paio è proprio il “Burcio”, la tradizionale barca da trasporto, che come un tempo viene caricata di materiale e trainata a forza di braccia dalle squadre rappresentanti i comuni della Riviera.
Quella che ne esce è una divertente ed emozionante gara a cronometro, inserita all’interno di un vasto programma di festeggiamenti e rievocazioni che prevede anche un corteo in costume, rappresentazioni teatrali, la proposta di piatti dell’epoca e piccoli spazi per lavori artigianali.
Il Palio del Ruzante, coniugando competizione sportiva e rievocazione storica, celebra con originalità un’attività tradizionale di grande valore economico e culturale e il fondamentale legame con l’acqua che unisce le diverse terre che si affacciano sul Brenta.
Every year, at the end of September, the Palio del Ruzante recalls the customs and traditions of the ancient inhabitants of the Riviera del Brenta, who transported goods and materials between Padua and Venice on large boats pulled by men and horses. The protagonist of the Palio is the “Burcio,” the traditional cargo boat, which, like in the past, is loaded with materials and towed by the strength of arms by teams representing the municipalities of the Riviera.
What emerges is a fun and exciting timekeeping race, part of a vast program of celebrations and reenactments that also includes a costume parade, theatrical performances, the proposal of dishes from the period, and small spaces for artisanal works.
The Palio del Ruzante, combining sports competition and historical reenactment, uniquely celebrates a traditional activity of great economic and cultural value and the fundamental link with water that connects the different lands bordering the Brenta.
Jedes Jahr, am Ende von September, erinnert das Palio del Ruzante an die Bräuche und Traditionen der alten Bewohner der Riviera del Brenta, die auf großen, von Männern und Pferden gezogenen Booten zwischen Padua und Venedig Lebensmittel und Materialien transportierten. Der Protagonist des Palio ist das „Burcio”, das traditionelle Transportboot, welches wie einst mit Material beladen und von den Teams der Gemeinden der Riviera mit Muskelkraft gezogen wird.
Das Ergebnis ist ein unterhaltsames und spannendes Wettrennen gegen die Zeit, das Teil eines umfassenden Programms von Festlichkeiten und Nachstellungen ist, das auch einen historischen Umzug, Theateraufführungen, die Präsentation von Gerichten der Epoche und kleine Stände für handwerkliche Arbeiten umfasst.
Das Palio del Ruzante, das sportlichen Wettbewerb und historische Nachstellung vereint, feiert auf originelle Weise eine traditionelle Aktivität von großem wirtschaftlichem und kulturellem Wert und das grundlegende Verhältnis zum Wasser , das die verschiedenen Länder, die an den Brenta grenzen, verbindet.
