80 anni e non sentirli (1946–2026). Il mito della Vespa: storia, costume, design dello scooter più famoso al mondo
Quarto appuntamento della rassegna “I Venerdì di Luglio nel Borgo 2026”, promossa dal gruppo spontaneo "amareSTRamare" in collaborazione con il Gruppo Alpini di Segusino.
La serata è dedicata alla storia della Vespa, icona del design italiano e simbolo di modernità che ha attraversato otto decenni di trasformazioni sociali, culturali ed economiche. Nata nell’immediato secondo dopoguerra, la Vespa rappresenta una risposta innovativa alle esigenze di mobilità di un Paese in ricostruzione, diventando rapidamente un oggetto di uso quotidiano e, al tempo stesso, un simbolo di stile e libertà.
Il racconto ripercorre il contesto storico in cui prende forma il progetto Piaggio e l’intuizione di Corradino D’Ascanio, evidenziando come lo scooter si sia progressivamente affermato nell’immaginario collettivo, anche attraverso il cinema, la pubblicità e le trasformazioni del costume.
Un fenomeno industriale e culturale che ha accompagnato generazioni diverse, diventando parte della memoria personale e sociale di molti, e sintetizzando valori di libertà, leggerezza, innovazione tecnica ed estetica.
Relatore dell’incontro sarà Alessandro Momesso, presidente del Vespa Club Sei Giorni di Jesolo e commissario storico-culturale per il Veneto e il Trentino-Alto Adige.

The fourth event of the series “Fridays in July in the Village 2026”, promoted by the spontaneous group "amareSTRamare" in collaboration with the Gruppo Alpini di Segusino.
The evening is dedicated to the history of the Vespa, an icon of Italian design and a symbol of modernity that has spanned eight decades of social, cultural, and economic transformations. Born in the immediate post-World War II period, the Vespa represents an innovative response to the mobility needs of a nation in reconstruction, quickly becoming an everyday object and, at the same time, a symbol of style and freedom.
The narrative retraces the historical context in which the Piaggio project and Corradino D’Ascanio's insight took shape, highlighting how the scooter has progressively established itself in the collective imagination, also through cinema, advertising, and cultural transformations.
An industrial and cultural phenomenon that has accompanied different generations, becoming part of the personal and social memory of many, and synthesizing values of freedom, lightness, technical and aesthetic innovation.
The speaker of the meeting will be Alessandro Momesso, president of the Vespa Club Sei Giorni di Jesolo and historical-cultural commissioner for Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige.

Viertes Treffen der Reihe “Die Freitage im Borgo 2026”, organisiert von der spontanen Gruppe "amareSTRamare" in Zusammenarbeit mit der Alpenvereinsgruppe von Segusino.
Der Abend ist der Geschichte der Vespa gewidmet, einer Ikone des italienischen Designs und einem Symbol der Modernität, das acht Jahrzehnte sozialer, kultureller und wirtschaftlicher Veränderungen durchlaufen hat. Entstanden in der unmittelbaren Nachkriegszeit, stellt die Vespa eine innovative Antwort auf die Mobilitätsbedürfnisse eines wiederaufbaulichen Landes dar, das sich schnell zu einem Alltagsgegenstand und zugleich zu einem Symbol für Stil und Freiheit entwickelte.
Die Erzählung rekonstruiert den historischen Kontext, in dem das Projekt Piaggio und die Idee von Corradino D’Ascanio Gestalt annehmen, und hebt hervor, wie sich der Scooter schrittweise im kollektiven Bewusstsein etabliert hat, auch durch Kino, Werbung und die Transformationen der Kultur.
Ein industrielles und kulturelles Phänomen, das verschiedene Generationen begleitet hat und Teil der persönlichen und sozialen Erinnerung vieler geworden ist, und Werte wie Freiheit, Leichtigkeit, technische und ästhetische Innovationen zusammenfasst.
Referent des Treffens wird Alessandro Momesso, Präsident des Vespa Club Sei Giorni di Jesolo und historisch-kultureller Kommissar für Venetien und Südtirol.
