Il leggendario sassofonista Lou Marini - membro della Blues Brothers Band originale che ha partecipato al film The Blues Brothers - e il poliedrico batterista italiano Enzo Zirilli si sono incontrati per la prima volta sul palco del leggendario Ronnie Scott’s di Londra, scoprendo un’intesa immediata.
Dal desiderio di suonare di nuovo insieme nascono gli “Italian Groovers”: una formazione versatile che naviga con disinvoltura tra Jazz, Blues, Soul e Funk, e che conta sui talenti di Gianluca Di Ienno all’organo e Alessandro Chiappetta alla chitarra.
Il progetto è già al suo terzo tour in meno di due anni e sta lavorando a un album di prossima uscita, “Playtime”.

Il curriculum di Lou Marini è un viaggio attraverso la storia della musica: da Frank Zappa a Tony Bennett, da Barbra Streisand a James Taylor, da Donald Fagen agli Steely Dan, ad Al Jarreau e molti altri.
Al suo fianco e a quello del prestigioso Enzo Zirilli (batterista di Dado Moroni, Gloria Gaynor, Enrico Pieranunzi, Peter Bernstein, Jim Mullen...) ci sono altre due eccellenze del jazz italiano: Gianluca Di Ienno (già con Fabrizio Bosso, Bebo Ferra) e Alessandro Chiappetta (al fianco di Paolo Fresu, Roberto Gatto, Ares Tavolazzi).
Insieme danno vita a un supergruppo che si muove con assoluta libertà tra composizioni originali e classici jazz, soul e funk, per un concerto dal groove travolgente da non perdere.

The legendary saxophonist Lou Marini - a member of the original Blues Brothers Band who participated in the film The Blues Brothers - and the versatile Italian drummer Enzo Zirilli first met on stage at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s in London, discovering an immediate synergy.
From the desire to play together again, the “Italian Groovers” were born: a versatile formation that effortlessly navigates between Jazz, Blues, Soul, and Funk, featuring the talents of Gianluca Di Ienno on organ and Alessandro Chiappetta on guitar.
The project is already on its third tour in less than two years and is working on an upcoming album, “Playtime”.

Lou Marini's resume is a journey through the history of music: from Frank Zappa to Tony Bennett, from Barbra Streisand to James Taylor, from Donald Fagen to Steely Dan, to Al Jarreau and many others.
Alongside him and the prestigious Enzo Zirilli (drummer for Dado Moroni, Gloria Gaynor, Enrico Pieranunzi, Peter Bernstein, Jim Mullen...) are two other excellences of Italian jazz: Gianluca Di Ienno (previously with Fabrizio Bosso, Bebo Ferra) and Alessandro Chiappetta (alongside Paolo Fresu, Roberto Gatto, Ares Tavolazzi).
