Le 'Finestre' di Laura Gioso
L’artista rodigina Laura Gioso raddoppia. Due spazi, due mostre, due progetti distinti, un unico tema.
Si comincia il 9 ottobre alla M.C. Gallery, in via X Luglio, con Finestra, a cura di Michele Ciolino, per proseguire il 12 ottobre negli spazi di Sala Celio della Provincia di Rovigo, in via Celio, con Altre finestre, a cura di Alfredo Sigolo.
L’idea di questo progetto dislocato in due luoghi del centro cittadino è quella di misurarsi con spazi differenti e dalle caratteristiche opposte: da un lato un concept store, uno spazio “ibrido” con ambizioni da “cultural hub”, caratterizzato da eventi di ricerca, progetti site specific e relazionali; dall’altro un ambiente istituzionale, di impostazione più tradizionale. L’iniziativa costituisce inoltre un interessante esperimento di collaborazione tra spazio pubblico e privato.
Laura Gioso apre la sua “pittura” e la trasforma in soglia da attraversare. Nel cortile del Palazzo X Luglio sarà collocata un’istallazione ispirata alla “porta d’Europa” di Mimmo Palladino collocata a Lampedusa.
La pittura di Laura Gioso si fa metafora d’accoglienza.
Laura Gioso è una delle artiste più attive e interessanti emerse in Polesine alla fine del secolo scorso e la sua ricerca rappresenta una sorta di ponte tra la nobile tradizione pittorica veneta — quella dei suoi maestri Ennio Finzi, Saverio Rampin e Carmelo Zotti — e modalità espressive contemporanee, collocate sulla soglia tra figurazione e astrazione.
Lo studio del colore e della luce è alla base della sua pittura, che prende le mosse dall’osservazione del paesaggio polesano. Il tema della finestra vuole rappresentare il 'cortocircuito tra fuori e dentro... strumento di conoscenza' (Ciolino) di una realtà 'liquida, impermanente, com’è nella natura di questi luoghi' (Sigolo).
Le due mostre chiuderanno rispettivamente il 24 e il 26 ottobre.
Nota biografica
Laura Rosalinda Gioso si è diplomata al Liceo Artistico di Padova ed è laureata all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. E' stata insegnante di educazione artistica in vari Istituti. Ha partecipato a numerosi concorsi, ottenendo il primo premio al concorso nazionale Fiera di Padova nel 1972. Tra le numerose mostre personali si ricordano quelle del 1982 a Villa Badoer di Fratta Polesine e del 1987 a Palazzo Roncale a Rovigo. Ha partecipato inoltre a varie collettive alla Bevilacqua La Masa, dov'è stata premiata nel 1981. Nel 1986 è stata selezionata per la Biennale giovani artisti delle Tre Venezie e nel 1991 è stata inserita nella collettiva generazionale Nati sotto Fetonte, curata da Antonio Romagnolo. Tra le mostre pià significative recenti si annoverano la personale al Museo del Polirone di San Benedetto Po - MN nel 2025 e la personale al Palazzo Ducale di Revere - MN nel 2026. Collabora con varie associazioni in progetti di decoro pubblico e urbano con i ragazzi delle scuole.Sue opere sono conservate presso la Pinacoteca dell'Accademia dei Concordi di Rovigo, il Museo di Cà Pesaro a Venezia, la Fondazione Giovanni Agnelli di Torino, il Museo d'Arte Moderna di Nizza, lo Young Museum di Revere – MN.

Laura Gioso's 'Windows'
The Rodigina artist Laura Gioso doubles up. Two spaces, two exhibitions, two distinct projects, one common theme. It starts on October 9 at M.C. Gallery, via X Luglio, with Window, curated by Michele Ciolino, continuing on October 12 in the Sala Celio spaces of the Province of Rovigo, via Celio, with Other Windows, curated by Alfredo Sigolo.
The idea behind this project, split across two locations in the city center, is to engage with different spaces and contrasting characteristics: on one hand, a concept store, a "hybrid" space with aspirations of being a "cultural hub," characterized by research events, site-specific projects, and relational activities; on the other, an institutional environment, with a more traditional setup. The initiative also represents an interesting experiment in collaboration between public and private space.
Laura Gioso opens her “painting” and transforms it into a threshold to be crossed. In the courtyard of Palazzo X Luglio, there will be an installation inspired by the “door of Europe” by Mimmo Palladino located in Lampedusa.

Laura Gioso is one of the most active and interesting artists to have emerged in Polesine at the end of the last century, and her work represents a sort of bridge between the noble painting tradition of Veneto — that of her masters Ennio Finzi, Saverio Rampin, and Carmelo Zotti — and contemporary expressive modes, positioned on the threshold between figuration and abstraction.
The study of color and light is the foundation of her painting, which takes inspiration from the observation of the Polesine landscape. The theme of the window aims to represent the 'short circuit between outside and inside... a tool for knowledge' (Ciolino) of a reality 'liquid, impermanent, as it is in the nature of these places' (Sigolo).
The two exhibitions will close respectively on October 24 and October 26.
Biographical Note
Laura Rosalinda Gioso graduated from the Art High School in Padova and holds a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. She has been an art education teacher in various Institutes. She has participated in numerous competitions, winning first prize at the national competition Fiera di Padova in 1972. Among her many solo exhibitions, those in 1982 at Villa Badoer in Fratta Polesine and in 1987 at Palazzo Roncale in Rovigo stand out. She has also participated in various group shows at Bevilacqua La Masa, where she was awarded in 1981. In 1986 she was selected for the Biennale of young artists from the Three Venices, and in 1991 she was included in the generational group show Born Under Phaethon, curated by Antonio Romagnolo. Among her most significant recent exhibitions are the solo show at the Museo del Polirone in San Benedetto Po - MN in 2025 and the solo show at the Palazzo Ducale in Revere - MN in 2026. She collaborates with various associations on public and urban decor projects with school children. Her works are held in the Pinacoteca of the Accademia dei Concordi in Rovigo, the Museo di Cà Pesaro in Venice, the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation in Turin, the Museum of Modern Art in Nice, and the Young Museum in Revere – MN.

Die 'Fenster' von Laura Gioso
Die Künstlerin aus Rovigo, Laura Gioso, verdoppelt. Zwei Räume, zwei Ausstellungen, zwei unterschiedliche Projekte, ein einziges Thema. Es beginnt am 9. Oktober in der M.C. Gallery, in der Via X Luglio, mit Fenster, kuratiert von Michele Ciolino, und geht weiter am 12. Oktober in den Räumen der Sala Celio der Provinz Rovigo, in der Via Celio, mit Andere Fenster, kuratiert von Alfredo Sigolo.
Die Idee dieses Projektes, das an zwei Orten im Stadtzentrum angesiedelt ist, besteht darin, sich mit unterschiedlichen und gegensätzlichen Räumen auseinanderzusetzen: einerseits ein Concept Store, ein "hybrider" Raum mit Ambitionen eines "kulturellen Hubs", gekennzeichnet durch Forschungsereignisse, standortbezogene und relationale Projekte; andererseits ein institutionelles, traditionelleres Umfeld. Die Initiative stellt zudem ein interessantes Experiment der Zusammenarbeit zwischen öffentlichem und privatem Raum dar.
Laura Gioso öffnet ihre "Malerei" und verwandelt sie in eine Schwelle, die es zu überschreiten gilt. Im Hof des Palazzo X Luglio wird eine Installation platziert, die von der "Tür Europas" von Mimmo Palladino inspiriert ist, die in Lampedusa steht.
Die Malerei von Laura Gioso wird zur Metapher der Gastfreundschaft.
Laura Gioso ist eine der aktivsten und interessantesten Künstlerinnen, die gegen Ende des letzten Jahrhunderts im Polesine aufgetaucht sind, und ihre Forschung stellt eine Art Brücke zwischen der edlen malerischen Tradition Venetiens — jener ihrer Meister Ennio Finzi, Saverio Rampin und Carmelo Zotti — und zeitgenössischen Ausdrucksformen dar, die an der Schwelle zwischen Figuration und Abstraktion angeordnet sind.
Das Studium von Farbe und Licht bildet die Grundlage ihrer Malerei, die ihren Ausgangspunkt in der Beobachtung der Landschaft des Polesine nimmt. Das Thema des Fensters soll den 'Kurzschluss zwischen außen und innen... ein Erkenntnismittel' (Ciolino) einer Realität 'flüssig, impermanent, wie es in der Natur dieser Orte liegt' (Sigolo) darstellen.
Die beiden Ausstellungen werden jeweils am 24. und 26. Oktober schließen.
Biografische Anmerkung
Laura Rosalinda Gioso hat das Liceo Artistico in Padua abgeschlossen und ist an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Venedig graduierte. Sie war Lehrerin für Künstlerische Ausbildung an verschiedenen Institutionen. Sie hat an zahlreichen Wettbewerben teilgenommen und 1972 den ersten Preis beim nationalen Wettbewerb Fiera di Padova gewonnen. Unter den zahlreichen Einzelausstellungen sind die von 1982 in der Villa Badoer in Fratta Polesine und von 1987 im Palazzo Roncale in Rovigo zu nennen. Außerdem hat sie an verschiedenen Gruppenausstellungen in Bevilacqua La Masa teilgenommen, wo sie 1981 ausgezeichnet wurde. 1986 wurde sie für die Biennale junger Künstler der drei Venetien ausgewählt und 1991 wurde sie in die generationsübergreifende Gruppenausstellung "Nati sotto Fetonte", kuratiert von Antonio Romagnolo, aufgenommen. Unter den bedeutendsten aktuellen Ausstellungen sind die Einzelausstellung im Museo del Polirone in San Benedetto Po - MN im Jahr 2025 und die Einzelausstellung im Palazzo Ducale in Revere - MN im Jahr 2026 zu verzeichnen. Sie arbeitet mit verschiedenen Verbänden an Projekten für öffentliche und urbane Verschönerung mit Schülern zusammen.
