Protagonista della manifestazione è il marrone "San Mauro" raccolto a San Rocco di Piegara, prodotto tradizionale della montagna veronese. Indicato dai latini come "ghianda degli dei", viene coltivato e raccolto seguendo metodi tradizionali. Vengono definiti marroni le castagne di grandi dimensioni, ma in realtà la dimensione è basata su un'impressione divisa. La polpa del marrone, dolce e gustosa, non si disfa alla cottura e si caratterizza per l'alto potere nutritivo. Grazie al suo importante contenuto, questo frutto dei Lessini, rappresenta da sempre una risorsa fondamentale per i montanari e molto apprezzata sulle tavole veronesi.
San Rocco di Piegara, frazione di Roverè Veronese, si prepara e propone cinque date ricche di eventi, per salutare il ritorno del frutto autunnale sui Monti Lessini.
Nella piazza della Chiesa saranno cotti i marroni raccolti nei dintorni del Paese, che si potranno acquistare anche crudi. Stand enogastronomici e bancarelle animeranno le vie principali, proponendo degustazioni di vino e prodotti tipici locali, oltre a dimostrazioni di antichi mestieri.

The protagonist of the event is the "San Mauro" chestnut harvested in San Rocco di Piegara, a traditional product of the Veronese mountains. Referred to by the Romans as the "acorn of the gods," it is cultivated and harvested using traditional methods. The term marroni refers to large chestnuts, but in reality, the size is based on a divided impression. The flesh of the marrone, sweet and tasty, does not disintegrate during cooking and is characterized by its high nutritional value. Thanks to its significant content, this fruit from the Lessini mountains has always represented a fundamental resource for mountain dwellers and is highly appreciated on Veronese tables.
San Rocco di Piegara, a district of Roverè Veronese, is preparing and proposing five dates filled with events to celebrate the return of the autumn fruit in the Lessini Mountains.
In the church square, the chestnuts collected around the village will be roasted, and they can also be purchased raw. Gastronomic stands and market stalls will animate the main streets, offering tastings of local wines and typical products, along with demonstrations of ancient crafts.

Protagonist der Veranstaltung ist die "San Mauro"-Kastanie, die in San Rocco di Piegara geerntet wird, ein traditionelles Produkt aus den veronesischen Bergen. Von den Römern als "Eichel der Götter" bezeichnet, wird sie nach traditionellen Methoden angebaut und geerntet. Die großen Kastanien werden als Maronen bezeichnet, wobei die Größe tatsächlich auf einem geteilten Eindruck basiert. Das Fruchtfleisch der Marone, süß und schmackhaft, zerfällt beim Kochen nicht und zeichnet sich durch seinen hohen Nährwert aus. Dank ihres wichtigen Gehalts stellt diese Frucht aus den Lessini-Bergen seit jeher eine grundlegende Ressource für die Bergbewohner dar und ist auf den Tischen in Verona sehr geschätzt.
San Rocco di Piegara, ein Teil von Roverè Veronese, bereitet sich vor und bietet fünf Termine mit vielen Veranstaltungen an, um die Rückkehr der herbstlichen Frucht in den Lessini-Bergen zu feiern.
Auf dem Platz der Kirche werden die Maronen, die in der Umgebung des Dorfes geerntet wurden, geröstet, die auch roh gekauft werden können. Kulinarische Stände und Verkaufsstände werden die Hauptstraßen beleben und Verkostungen von Wein und typischen lokalen Produkten sowie Vorführungen alter Handwerke anbieten.
