1932. Decimo anno dell’era fascista.
Sulla panchina di un parco a Milano a un gruppo di ragazze viene l’idea di giocare a calcio. Fondarono il GFC (Gruppo Femminile Calcistico), la prima squadra di calcio femminile, che a breve raccolse decine di atlete. Inizialmente gli organi federali permisero loro di allenarsi ma non di giocare in pubblico, e solo seguendo delle regole di abbigliamento e di gioco. Dopo un solo anno, alla vigilia della prima partita ufficiale il regime le costrinse a smettere di giocare.
La loro fu una sfida al loro tempo, al regime, alla mentalità dominante, che vedeva nel calcio lo sport emblema della virilità fascista.
La loro epopea ci viene raccontata da tre donne di oggi, appassionate di calcio, che si metteranno letteralmente nei panni di quelle “giovinette” per riviverne il sudore, gli entusiasmi, le fatiche agonistiche e le scelte politiche.
Un racconto portato avanti con ironia, leggerezza e poesia da un trio tutt’altro che canonico che sa mischiare comicità e narrazione per mostrarci come, pur a distanza di tanti anni, certi pregiudizi siano duri a morire e come alcune battute e commenti di oggi siano terribilmente simili a quelli di allora.

1932. Tenth year of the fascist era.
On a bench in a park in Milan, a group of girls come up with the idea to play soccer. They founded the GFC (Women’s Soccer Group), the first women’s soccer team, which soon gathered dozens of athletes. Initially, the federal bodies allowed them to train but not to play publicly, and only under rules of dress and play. After just one year, on the eve of their first official match, the regime forced them to stop playing.
Their challenge was against their time, the regime, the dominant mentality, which saw soccer as the emblematic sport of fascist virility.
Their epic is told to us by three women of today, soccer enthusiasts, who will literally step into the shoes of those “young girls” to relive their sweat, enthusiasm, competitive struggles, and political choices.
A story told with irony, lightness, and poetry by a trio that is anything but conventional, skillfully mixing comedy and narration to show us how, even after many years, certain prejudices are hard to die and how some jokes and comments today are terrifyingly similar to those of the past.

1932. Zehntes Jahr der faschistischen Ära.
Auf einer Parkbank in Mailand kam einer Gruppe von Mädchen die Idee, Fußball zu spielen. Sie gründeten den GFC (Gruppo Femminile Calcistico), die erste Frauenfußballmannschaft, die bald Dutzende von Athletinnen sammelte. Zunächst erlaubten die federalen Behörden ihnen, zu trainieren, aber nicht, öffentlich zu spielen, und nur unter Einhaltung von Bekleidungs- und Spielregeln. Nach nur einem Jahr, am Vorabend des ersten offiziellen Spiels, zwang das Regime sie, mit dem Spielen aufzuhören.
Ihrer war eine Herausforderung an ihre Zeit, an das Regime, an die vorherrschende Mentalität, die Fußball als den Sport der faschistischen Männlichkeit betrachtete.
Ihre Epopee wird uns von drei Frauen von heute erzählt, leidenschaftlichen Fußballfans, die sich buchstäblich in die Rolle dieser „jungen Mädchen“ versetzen, um den Schweiß, die Begeisterung, die Wettkampfmühen und die politischen Entscheidungen nachzuleben.
Eine Erzählung, die mit Ironie, Leichtigkeit und Poesie von einem Trio vorangetrieben wird, das alles andere als konventionell ist und weiß, Komik und Erzählung zu mischen, um uns zu zeigen, wie, obwohl viele Jahre vergangen sind, bestimmte Vorurteile hartnäckig bleiben und wie einige Bemerkungen und Kommentare von heute erschreckend ähnlich sind wie die von damals.
