Sulla destra orografica del torrente Cordevole, a metà strada tra i paesi di Alleghe e Caprile, sorge il piccolo paese di Santa Maria delle Grazie. Nonostante la vicinanza ad Alleghe, Santa Maria delle Grazie appartiene al comune di Rocca Pietore, come pure l'intera sponda destra del lago fino alla frazione di Masarè compresa. La maggior attrattiva del paese è rappresentata dal Santuario mariano dedicato alla Madonna delle Grazie e divenuto così famoso negli anni da essere oggi considerato la meta prediletta della devozione mariana fra le valli dolomitiche. Il Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie, attualmente retto da Frati Minori che vi si stabilirono nel 1945 per erigere l'opera nata dall'idea dell'ultimo parroco di Santa Maria, don Luigi Pallua, fu iniziato nel 1947 e consacrato solennemente dal vescovo di Belluno, Gioacchino Muccin, il 22 agosto 1965. Il Santuario è impreziosito da alcune stupende opere dei famosi artisti contemporanei: l'altar maggior è opera dello scultore trevigiano Toni Benetton; i tre pannelli lignei che ornano il battistero sono opera dello scultore falcadino Augusto Murer, il quale per il santuario fece anche l'altorilievo marmoreo, posto sulla facciata esterna, che raffigura l'umanità in cammino. Il 12 ottobre 1771 il vescovo Giovanni Battista Sandi erigeva a parrocchia la chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie.
According to the map, to the right of the Cordevole mountain stream, half way between the towns of Alleghe and Caprile, stands the tiny hamlet of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Despite being so close to Alleghe, Santa Maria delle Grazie belongs to the municipality of Rocca Pietore, as does the entire right bank of the lake up to and including the neighbourhood of Masarè. The great attraction of this hamlet is the Marian sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna delle Grazie which has become famous down the years and these days is considered the most favoured destination in the Dolomite valleys for devotees of Mary the Mother of God. The Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie is currently run by the Franciscans who moved there in 1945 to complete the work conceived by the last parish priest of Santa Maria, Father Luigi Pallua. Building began in 1947 and the sanctuary received its solemn consecration from the Bishop of Belluno, Gioacchino Muccin, on 22 August 1965. The sanctuary houses some marvellous works of art by famous contemporary artists: the high altar is the work of the sculptor from Treviso Toni Benetton; the three wooden panels adorning the baptistery are the work of the sculptor from Falcade Augusto Murer, who also created the marble high-relief on the outside of the sanctuary picturing humanity on its journey. On 12 October 1771 Bishop Giovanni Battista Sandi raised the status of the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie to that of a parish church.
