Semplice passeggiata alla sorgente solforosa delle Velegiate a Saviner di Laste.
Il percorso si svolge sempre in zona fresca e ombreggiata dapprima lungo strada asfaltata e poi lungo comodo sentiero.
Una volta attraversato un piccolo ponte sul torrente Cordevole si raggiunge la sorgente sulfurea delle Velegiate, ricca di solfati.
Queste acque sono state utilizzate nei secoli per le loro notevoli qualità terapeutiche, un tempo veniva prescritto il loro utilizzo soprattutto in campo dermatologico.
Poco oltre è anche interessante vedere i massicci bastioni di cemento armato costruiti negli anni '60 per uno sbarramento a scopo di sfruttamento idroelettrico, i cui lavori furono interrotti a seguito della "Tragedia del Vajont" considerate le caratteristiche costruttive molto simili.
Easy walk at the sulphur spring of Le Velegiate in Saviner di Laste.
This route crosses a place which is always cool and shady at first along the main road and than following a forestry road.
Once crossed a small bridge on Cordevole stream, you will find a very special attraction : the sulphur-rich spring of Le Velegiate.
This particular kind of spring water has a notable therapeutic properties above all dermatologic, used to be prescribed by doctors especially in the past.
Continuing little further on you will find an interesting sight, some huge reinforced concrete ramparts built in the 1960s intended as a dam to make use of the waters, but on which work came to a halt after the Vajont catastrophe, when a huge landslide hit that dam and caused a devastating flood.
