Martedì 25 agosto alle ore 21.00 presso il Cinema Teatro Palladio di Cesuna, si terrà lo spettacolo-racconto " Col piccone a catàr fortuna" dedicato ai minatori che emigrarono all'estero in cerca di fortuna, in particolare si racconterà la storia di Angelo Galvan, originario di Roana, che salvò diverse vite nella tragedia di Marcinelle, nell'incendio della miniera di Bois du Cazier.
Una pagina della grande storia dell’emigrazione italiana che sull’Altopiano dei Sette Comuni ha radici profonde e porta anche il nome di un altopianese.
L’appuntamento assume un significato ancora più forte in questo 2026, a poche settimane dal 70° anniversario della catastrofe dell’8 agosto 1956. Quella mattina 275 uomini erano scesi al lavoro nel sottosuolo di Marcinelle, in Belgio. Un incidente provocò un incendio che si propagò attraverso la miniera: 262 minatori persero la vita, 136 dei quali italiani. Il Bois du Cazier è oggi uno dei più importanti luoghi europei della memoria legati al lavoro e all’emigrazione.
In quella tragedia Angelo Galvan ebbe un ruolo di primo piano nelle operazioni di soccorso. Capo della squadra notturna della miniera, rischiò la propria vita insieme ad altri uomini nel tentativo di raggiungere i compagni rimasti intrappolati. Il sito ufficiale del Bois du Cazier ne conserva ancora oggi la memoria, tanto che una delle sale del complesso porta il suo nome.
Nelle testimonianze e nella documentazione storica Galvan compare anche con il soprannome di “Renard du Cazier”, la Volpe del Cazier, legato alla sua esperienza e alla capacità di muoversi nei cunicoli della miniera durante le disperate operazioni successive all’incendio. Anche Gian Antonio Stella, in un recente approfondimento dedicato alle tragedie minerarie e pubblicato dal Corriere della Sera, ha ricordato il minatore di Roana tra gli eroi di Marcinelle e tra i protagonisti dei tentativi di trovare superstiti.

The official site of the Bois du Cazier still keeps his memory alive today, to the extent that one of the rooms in the complex bears his name.
In the testimonies and historical documentation, Galvan is also mentioned by the nickname "Renard du Cazier," the Fox of Cazier, linked to his experience and ability to move through the mine's tunnels during the desperate operations following the fire. Also, Gian Antonio Stella, in a recent in-depth article dedicated to mining tragedies and published by the Corriere della Sera, remembered the miner from Roana among the heroes of Marcinelle and among the protagonists of the attempts to find survivors.

Am Dienstag, den 25. August um 21.00 Uhr im Cinema Teatro Palladio in Cesuna, findet das Schauspiel-Erzählung "Col piccone a catàr fortuna" statt, das den Bergleuten gewidmet ist, die ins Ausland emigrierten auf der Suche nach Glück, insbesondere wird die Geschichte von Angelo Galvan erzählt, einem Ursprungsort von Roana, der mehrere Leben bei der Tragödie von Marcinelle, im Brand der Mine von Bois du Cazier, rettete.
Eine Seite der großen Geschichte der italienischen Emigration, die auf dem Altopiano dei Sette Comuni tiefe Wurzeln hat und auch den Namen eines Altopianese trägt.
Der Termin hat in diesem 2026 eine noch stärkere Bedeutung, wenige Wochen vor dem 70. Jahrestag der Katastrophe vom 8. August 1956. An diesem Morgen waren 275 Männer in die Unterwelt von Marcinelle, Belgien, gegangen. Ein Unfall verursachte einen Brand, der sich in der Mine ausbreitete: 262 Bergleute verloren ihr Leben, 136 davon Italiener. Das Bois du Cazier ist heute einer der wichtigsten europäischen Gedenkstätten zum Thema Arbeit und Emigration.
In dieser Tragödie spielte Angelo Galvan eine Hauptrolle in den Rettungsaktionen. Als Chef der Nachtschicht in der Mine riskierte er sein Leben zusammen mit anderen Männern, um die eingeschlossenen Kameraden zu erreichen. Die offizielle Website des Bois du Cazier bewahrt bis heute sein Andenken, so dass einer der Räume des Komplexes seinen Namen trägt.
In den Zeugnissen und in der historischen Dokumentation erscheint Galvan auch unter dem Spitznamen “Renard du Cazier”, der Fuchs von Cazier, der sich auf seine Erfahrung und die Fähigkeit bezieht, sich in den Tunneln der Mine während der verzweifelten Rettungsaktionen nach dem Brand zu bewegen. Auch Gian Antonio Stella, in einer kürzlich veröffentlichten Vertiefung über die Bergbau-Tragödien im Corriere della Sera, erinnerte an den Bergmann von Roana unter den Helden von Marcinelle und unter den Protagonisten der Versuche, Überlebende zu finden.
