Aperitivo con l'Autore Matteo Strukul presenta il libro "La vendetta dei Leoni di Venezia"
Ingresso libero. Evento organizzato dal Comune di Roana in collaborazione con Libreria Giunti al Punto e Pro loco Roana.
Trama: Nella Venezia del 1617, all’indomani della congiura di Bedmar, la Serenissima è impegnata in una lotta senza quartiere, volta a identificare i cospiratori spagnoli e a giustiziarli uno dopo l’altro. Nel corso di questa spietata caccia all’uomo, si incrociano i destini del Caigo, lo Spettro di Venezia, l’uomo che veglia sulla città con spada e veleno, della giovane e bella profumiera Rea, della pittrice Chiara Varotari, del capo degli sbirri e degli zaffi Marco Valier, della misteriosa e spietata avventuriera che si fa chiamare L’Invelenada. Nel frattempo, anche la guerra di Gradisca giunge al suo termine e con la pace l’impegno da parte dell’Arciduca d’Austria di smantellare la flotta dei famigerati pirati Uscocchi, ma Venezia ne vuole la distruzione. Così, alle porte di Segna, covo dei corsari, si consuma una battaglia di terra e di mare all’ultimo sangue, mentre il Mangia-Cuori – l’indomito capo dei predoni – sceglie di sacrificare fino all’ultimo uomo pur di non cedere al Leone di San Marco. E mentre il sangue si mescola al sale del mare e l’odore delle calli si confonde con quello del veleno, Venezia non perdona, non dimentica e non si piega. Il Leone ruggisce, e chi osa sfidarlo scopre che la sua ombra è lunga… e letale.

Plot: In Venice in 1617, following the Bedmar conspiracy, the Serenissima is engaged in a relentless struggle to identify and execute the Spanish conspirators one by one. In the course of this merciless manhunt, the fates of Caigo, the Specter of Venice, the man who watches over the city with sword and poison, the young and beautiful perfumer Rea, the painter Chiara Varotari, the head of the police and the zotici Marco Valier, and the mysterious and ruthless adventurer known as L’Invelenada intersect. Meanwhile, the war of Gradisca is also coming to an end, and with peace comes the Archduke of Austria’s commitment to dismantle the fleet of the infamous Uskok pirates, but Venice wants their destruction. Thus, at the gates of Segna, lair of the corsairs, a battle of land and sea to the last blood unfolds, while the Mangia-Cuori – the indomitable leader of the raiders – chooses to sacrifice until the last man rather than yield to the Lion of San Marco. And while blood mixes with the sea salt and the smell of the calli blends with that of poison, Venice does not forgive, does not forget, and does not bend. Eintritt frei. Die Veranstaltung wird von der Gemeinde Roana in Zusammenarbeit mit der Buchhandlung Giunti al Punto und Pro Loco Roana organisiert.
Handlung: In Venedig im Jahr 1617, unmittelbar nach der Bedmar-Verschwörung, ist die Serenissima in einem erbarmungslosen Kampf verwickelt, um die spanischen Verschwörer zu identifizieren und einen nach dem anderen zu richten. Im Verlauf dieser gnadenlosen Menschenjagd kreuzen sich die Schicksale des Caigo, des Gespensts von Venedig, des Mannes, der mit Schwert und Gift über die Stadt wacht, der jungen und schönen Parfümeurin Rea, der Malerin Chiara Varotari, des Chefs der Stadtwache und des Zaffi Marco Valier, und der geheimnisvollen, gnadenlosen Abenteurerin, die sich L’Invelenada nennt. Währenddessen neigt sich auch der Krieg von Gradisca dem Ende zu und mit dem Frieden das Versprechen des Erzherzogs von Österreich, die Flotte der berüchtigten Piraten Uscocchi abzubauen, doch Venedig will deren Zerstörung. So kommt es an den Toren von Segna, dem Versteck der Korsaren, zu einer blutigen Schlacht an Land und zu Wasser, während der Mangia-Cuori – der unbändige Anführer der Räuber – beschließt, bis zum letzten Mann zu opfern, um sich nicht dem Löwen von San Marco zu beugen. Und während das Blut sich mit dem Meeressalz vermischt und der Geruch der Gassen sich mit dem des Giftes mischt, vergibt Venedig nicht, vergisst nicht und beugt sich nicht. Der Löwe brüllt, und wer es wagt, ihn herauszufordern, entdeckt, dass sein Schatten lang… und tödlich ist.
