La tradizione di intagliare maschere lignee risale ai primi del Novecento e con gli anni è divenuta tradizione. Ispirati all’orrido, questi primi volti presentavano una parte con sembianze maschili e una parte con sembianze femminili. Lo “scultore capostipite” fu Crispino Selle».
Passati quasi cinquant’anni, dopo la Seconda guerra mondiale, un’allegra comitiva di giovani, un po’ scherzando e un po’lavorando secondo le proprie capacità, sfornò un discreto numero di altre maschere in legno, visi che ispiravano il riso e l’allegria.
Oggi questa tradizione è portata avanti a Rivamonte grazie all’abilità e alla passione di Giovanni Battista “Tita” Bressan che si diletta a scolpire gli Òlt (volti) da Riva riscuotendo successi e riconoscimenti in Italia e all’estero.

The tradition of carving wooden masks dates back to the early 1900s and over the years has become a tradition. Inspired by the grotesque, these early faces had one part with masculine features and another with feminine features. The "founding sculptor" was Crispino Selle.
Almost fifty years later, after World War II, a cheerful group of young people, partly joking and partly working according to their abilities, produced a decent number of other wooden masks, faces that inspired laughter and joy.
Today this tradition is carried on in Rivamonte thanks to the skill and passion of Giovanni Battista “Tita” Bressan, who delights in sculpting the Òlt (faces) from Riva, achieving success and recognition both in Italy and abroad.

Die Tradition des Schnitzens von Holzmasken geht auf die frühen Jahre des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts zurück und ist im Laufe der Jahre zur Tradition geworden. Inspiriert vom Grauen, hatten diese ersten Gesichter einen Teil mit männlichen und einen Teil mit weiblichen Zügen. Der "stammelnde Bildhauer" war Crispino Selle.Fast fünfzig Jahre später, nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, produzierte eine fröhliche Gruppe von Jugendlichen, ein wenig scherzend und ein wenig arbeitend nach ihren Fähigkeiten, eine ansehnliche Anzahl weiterer Holzmasken, Gesichter, die Lachen und Freude inspirierten.
Heute wird diese Tradition in Rivamonte fortgeführt dank der Geschicklichkeit und Leidenschaft von Giovanni Battista “Tita” Bressan, der sich darin erfreut, die Òlt (Gesichter) aus Riva zu schnitzen und damit Erfolge und Anerkennung in Italien und im Ausland zu erzielen.
