Descrizione
Ore 16.00 | Lezione “La stagione d’oro.
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Day of Contemporary Art returns, an initiative promoted by AMACI to celebrate contemporary art through a widespread and articulated program.
On the occasion of this twenty-second edition, the Antonio Canova Gypsotheca Museum offers an event dedicated to the relationship between the Canovian heritage and contemporary museum culture, with particular attention to the design of spaces and the experiences of Italian museography in the post-war period.
4:00 p.m.| Lecture “The Golden Age. Carlo Scarpa and Italian Museography in the Post-War Period” by Orietta Lanzarini The lecture will focus on the so-called post-war museographic reform (1945-1965 approx.) and its main protagonists: Franco Albini, BBPR, Carlo Scarpa.
The design work of these architects aims to ensure that people, of any cultural and social level, find in the museum an educational tool capable of conveying to them the values of art.
Thanks to the architects of this “golden age,” the museum abandons its aura of a “cemetery” or “depot” of objects to become the “home” of artworks, familiar, modern, and efficient, like the homes of those who visited the museum spaces.
5:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m. guided tour of the Gypsotheca Following this, Professor Lanzarini will lead participants on a guided tour of the Gypsotheca, offering a reading of the museum spaces and their relationship with the works of Antonio Canova, in light of the themes discussed during the lecture.
A pathway that will allow for relating theory and direct experience, observing the Museum also through the perspective of contemporary museography.
