Manodopera, l'opera d'animazione firmata da Alain Ughetto, è un viaggio a ritroso nel tempo che ripercorre le radici della famiglia Ughetto a Ughettera, un piccolo borgo piemontese alle pendici del Monviso.
All’alba del XX secolo, spinto dalla miseria e dalla speranza, il capofamiglia Luigi decide di guidare i suoi cari oltre le Alpi verso la Francia. È un'odissea invernale, fatta di passi sulla neve e sogni di riscatto, che sfocia però in una realtà durissima: una quotidianità segnata da lavori massacranti e dal peso del razzismo, simboleggiato da quei cartelli infamanti che vietavano l'ingresso "ai cani e agli italiani". Eppure, tra le guerre, l’epidemia di spagnola e l’ombra del fascismo, il legame indissolubile tra Luigi e Cesira permette alla famiglia di resistere.
È il racconto di un’integrazione sofferta ma riuscita, dove il sacrificio di una generazione trasforma degli immigrati indesiderati nei cittadini francesi di domani.
Labor, the animated work signed by Alain Ughetto, is a journey backwards in time that retraces the roots of the Ughetto family in Ughettera, a small village in Piedmont at the foot of Monviso.
At the dawn of the 20th century, driven by poverty and hope, the family head Luigi decides to lead his loved ones over the Alps to France. It is a winter odyssey, made up of footsteps in the snow and dreams of redemption, which however culminates in a harsh reality: a daily life marked by grueling labor and the burden of racism, symbolized by those infamous signs prohibiting entry "to dogs and Italians." Yet, amidst wars, the Spanish flu epidemic, and the shadow of fascism, the indissoluble bond between Luigi and Cesira allows the family to endure.
It is the tale of a painful but successful integration, where the sacrifice of one generation transforms unwanted immigrants into the French citizens of tomorrow.
Arbeit, der Animationsfilm unterzeichnet von Alain Ughetto, ist eine Reise zurück in die Zeit, die die Wurzeln der Familie Ughetto in Ughettera, einem kleinen piemontesischen Dorf am Fuße des Monviso, nachzeichnet.
Im frühen 20. Jahrhundert, getrieben von Armut und Hoffnung, beschließt das Familienoberhaupt Luigi, seine Lieben über die Alpen nach Frankreich zu führen. Es ist eine winterliche Odyssee, bestehend aus Schritten im Schnee und Träumen von Erlösung, die jedoch in eine sehr harte Realität mündet: eine von erschöpfender Arbeit und dem Gewicht des Rassismus geprägte Alltagsrealität, symbolisiert durch die infamen Schilder, die den Zugang "für Hunde und Italiener" verboten. Und dennoch ermöglicht die untrennbare Bindung zwischen Luigi und Cesira der Familie, durchzuhalten, trotz der Kriege, der Spanischen Grippe und des Schattens des Faschismus.
Es ist die Erzählung einer mühevollen, aber erfolgreichen Integration, bei der das Opfer einer Generation unerwünschte Einwanderer in die französischen Bürger von morgen verwandelt.
