Il monumento a Tiziano a Pieve di Cadore realizzato da Antonio Dal Zotto (1880) si colloca nel quadro ottocentesco di elaborazione del mito tizianesco, che consacra l’artista quale emblema del genio rinascimentale e della tradizione culturale nazionale. Elena Catra è una storica dell’arte specializzata nell’arte dell’Ottocento veneto, con particolare attenzione ad Antonio Canova, alla scultura e alla didattica accademica. È autrice di numerose pubblicazioni, curatrice di mostre e relatrice in convegni nazionali e internazionali. Ha approfondito anche la fortuna di Tiziano nell’Ottocento. È fondatrice e membro della redazione della rivista online MDCCC 1800 di Ca’ Foscari e insegna Storia dell’arte all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Vittorio Pajusco è storico dell’arte, dottore di ricerca presso Ca’ Foscari e IUAV, e studioso dell’arte moderna e contemporanea. Elena Catra is an art historian specialized in nineteenth-century Venetian art, with particular attention to Antonio Canova, sculpture, and academic teaching. She is the founder and a member of the editorial board of the online journal MDCCC 1800 of Ca’ Foscari and teaches Art History at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. Vittorio Pajusco is an art historian, PhD candidate at Ca’ Foscari and IUAV, and a researcher of modern and contemporary art. His main research areas focus on the Venice Biennale, artistic exhibitions between the 19th and 20th centuries, gender studies, and the enhancement and cataloging of archives and cultural heritage. He has curated numerous exhibitions and publications, especially in the context of the Canovian celebrations from 2022-2025, including The Unseen Canova, Canovian Memories, and Antonio Canova.
