La mostra è un viaggio nella vita e nell’opera di Monsignor Giovanni Battista Sartori, Vescovo di Mindo e fratello di Antonio Canova.
Uomo di fede, promotore di opere pubbliche, mecenate e attento benefattore della sua comunità, Sartori Canova ha contribuito in modo determinante allo sviluppo sociale, culturale e urbanistico di Crespano e del territorio pedemontano nel corso dell’Ottocento.
La mostra sarà allestita su tre piani di Palazzo Reale e ripercorrerà la biografia di Monsignor Giovanni Battista Sartori attraverso un percorso cronologico: dall’ambiente familiare agli studi padovani, dal soggiorno romano al ruolo di collaboratore insostituibile del Canova, fino al suo legame profondo con Crespano. La sezione finale della mostra si soffermerà sull’impatto duraturo delle sue opere sul territorio, testimoniato da numerosi interventi urbanistici, infrastrutturali, culturali e assistenziali.
La mostra sarà visitabile dal 25 ottobre 2025 al 26 marzo 2026.

The exhibition is a journey into the life and work of Monsignor Giovanni Battista Sartori, Bishop of Mindo and brother of Antonio Canova.
A man of faith, a promoter of public works, a patron and attentive benefactor of his community, Sartori Canova played a decisive role in the social, cultural, and urban development of Crespano and the foothill territory throughout the nineteenth century.
The exhibition will be set up on three floors of the Royal Palace and will trace the biography of Monsignor Giovanni Battista Sartori through a chronological path: from the family environment to his studies in Padua, from his stay in Rome to his role as an indispensable collaborator of Canova, up to his deep bond with Crespano. The final section of the exhibition will focus on the lasting impact of his works on the territory, evidenced by numerous urban, infrastructural, cultural, and welfare interventions.
The exhibition will be open from October 25, 2025, to March 26, 2026.

Die Ausstellung ist eine Reise in das Leben und Werk von Monsignore Giovanni Battista Sartori, Bischof von Mindo und Bruder von Antonio Canova.
Ein gläubiger Mann, Förderer öffentlicher Werke, Mäzen und aufmerksamer Wohltäter seiner Gemeinschaft, hat Sartori Canova entscheidend zur sozialen, kulturellen und städtebaulichen Entwicklung von Crespano und des Vorlandes im Verlauf des 19. Jahrhunderts beigetragen.
Die Ausstellung wird in drei Etagen des Palazzo Reale eingerichtet und wird die Biografie von Monsignore Giovanni Battista Sartori durch einen chronologischen Weg nachzeichnen: von der familiären Umgebung über das Studium in Padua, vom Aufenthalt in Rom bis zur Rolle als unersetzlicher Mitarbeiter von Canova, bis zu seiner tiefen Verbundenheit mit Crespano. Der letzte Abschnitt der Ausstellung wird sich mit der nachhaltigen Wirkung seiner Werke auf das Gebiet befassen, belegt durch zahlreiche städtebauliche, infrastrukturelle, kulturelle und soziale Interventionen.
Die Ausstellung ist vom 25. Oktober 2025 bis zum 26. März 2026 zu besichtigen.
