La cerimonia viene consacrata ufficialmente in occasione del pellegrinaggio a Cima Grappa del Patriarca di Venezia, Card. Giuseppe Sarto (poi papa Pio X) il 4 agosto 1901, trovando regolare conferma ogni estate.
Le tremende circostanze legate al massacro degli oltre 23.000 Soldati della I Guerra Mondiale contrassegnano indelebilmente il martirio del territorio, i cui Caduti trovano sepoltura nel Cimitero Italiano e Austro-Ungarico.
Il Massiccio del Grappa è poi testimone del drammatico Rastrellamento nazifascista datato settembre 1944, col sacrificio di moltissime giovani vite barbaramente spezzate.
L’importante appuntamento della prima domenica di agosto unisce il ricordo dei tanti rilevanti avvenimenti storici, civili e religiosi che hanno segnato il territorio della Pedemontana, della Regione Veneto e dell’intera Nazione, richiamando ogni anno sul Monte Grappa migliaia di persone, Autorità civili, militari e religiose, nonché rappresentanti di Associazioni provenienti da tutto il Veneto e dal Nord Italia.
L’appuntamento si ripropone come riflessione sui temi di Identità Nazionale, Pace, convivenza tra popoli, mantenimento di valori etici e storici che hanno fatto del Grappa il Monte Sacro alla Patria, legandolo indissolubilmente alla Storia italiana ed europea.
Il programma prevede:
- ore 8:30 Accoglienza delle Autorità e dei Gonfaloni presso il Sacrario
- ore 9:00 Inizio cerimonia
- ore 9:30 Saluti e Commemorazione Ufficiale
- ore 10:00 Santa Messa
- ore 11:00 Onori presso il Cimitero Austro-Ungarico
The ceremony is officially consecrated on the occasion of the pilgrimage to Cima Grappa by the Patriarch of Venice, Card. Giuseppe Sarto (later Pope Pius X) on August 4, 1901, finding regular confirmation every summer.
The tremendous circumstances related to the massacre of over 23,000 soldiers of World War I indelibly mark the martyrdom of the territory, whose fallen find burial in the Italian and Austro-Hungarian Cemetery.
The Grappa massif is then a witness to the dramatic nazi-fascist roundup dated September 1944, with the sacrifice of many young lives barbarically cut short.
The important appointment on the first Sunday of August combines the memory of the many significant historical, civil, and religious events that have marked the territory of the Pedemontana, the Veneto Region, and the entire Nation, attracting thousands of people each year to Monte Grappa, including civil, military, and religious Authorities, as well as representatives of Associations from all over Veneto and Northern Italy.
The event is reiterated as a reflection on the themes of National Identity, Peace, coexistence among peoples, and the maintenance of ethical and historical values that have made Grappa the Sacred Mountain to the Fatherland, inextricably linking it to Italian and European History.
The program includes:
- 8:30 a.m. Welcome of the Authorities and Banners at the Sacrary
- 9:00 a.m. Start of the ceremony
- 9:30 a.m. Greetings and Official Commemoration
- 10:00 a.m. Holy Mass
- 11:00 a.m. Honors at the Austro-Hungarian Cemetery
Die Zeremonie wird offiziell anlässlich der Pilgerfahrt zum Cima Grappa des Patriarchen von Venedig, Kardinal Giuseppe Sarto (später Papst Pius X.), am 4. August 1901 gefeiert und findet jeden Sommer regulär statt.
Die erschütternden Umstände des Massakers von über 23.000 Soldaten des Ersten Weltkriegs prägen das Martyrium des Gebiets, in dem die Gefallenen auf dem Italienischen und Österreichisch-Ungarischen Friedhof ihre letzte Ruhe finden.
Der Grappa-Massiv ist zudem Zeuge des dramatischen nazi-faschistischen Aufräumens im September 1944, wobei viele junge Leben barbarisch ausgelöscht wurden.
Der wichtige Termin am ersten Sonntag im August verbindet das Gedenken an zahlreiche bedeutende historische, zivile und religiöse Ereignisse, die das Gebiet der Pedemontana, der Region Venetien und der gesamten Nation geprägt haben, und zieht jedes Jahr tausende von Menschen, zivile, militärische und religiöse Behörden sowie Vertreter von Verbänden aus ganz Venetien und Norditalien auf den Monte Grappa.
Der Termin wird als Reflexion über die Themen nationale Identität, Frieden, das Zusammenleben der Völker und die Wahrung ethischer und historischer Werte wiederholt, die den Grappa zum Heiligen Berg der Heimat gemacht haben und ihn untrennbar mit der italienischen und europäischen Geschichte verbinden.

- 9:00 Uhr Beginn der Zeremonie
- 9:30 Uhr Grüße und offizielle Gedenkfeier
- 10:00 Uhr Heilige Messe
- 11:00 Uhr Ehrungen am Österreichisch-Ungarischen Friedhof
