Amii Stewart e Dee Dee Bridgewater: due dive della black music incorniciano il cartellone del Padova Jazz Festival 2026. Incontri tra artisti di generazioni diverse, intersezioni stilistiche che portano il jazz a confrontarsi con la contemporaneità, ascolti esplorativi lungo le traiettorie geografiche e storiche della musica afroamericana: tutto ciò si ritrova nel programma della kermesse padovana, nel quale per altro spiccano le presenze femminili, con nove musiciste leader su sedici concerti.
Dal 22 ottobre all’8 novembre (con in più un’anteprima il 10 ottobre) il festival ospiterà star della scena sia internazionale (Kurt Elling con gli Yellowjackets) che italiana (Doctor 3 con Luciano Biondini), artisti di massimo prestigio ma di rara visibilità in Italia (Delfeayo Marsalis, Brandee Younger), giovani rising stars che lasciano allibiti per la maturità espressiva (Isaiah Collier). Continuano inoltre le esplorazioni dei legami tra musica afroamericana e musica latin (Yilian Cañizares, Marialy Pacheco) e del jazz italiano, con artisti il cui talento merita una vera riscoperta.
Questo cast policromo calcherà gli innumerevoli palcoscenici del festival: dalle sale di pregio storico e architettonico (Teatro Verdi, Sala dei Giganti al Liviano, Centro Culturale Altinate/San Gaetano), al palco per grandi eventi del Gran Teatro Geox, agli spazi più informali del Barco Teatro e le aule dell’Università degli Studi di Padova.

Meetings between artists from different generations, stylistic intersections that bring jazz into dialogue with contemporaneity, exploratory listening along the geographical and historical trajectories of afro-american music: all this can be found in the program of the Padova festival, where female presence stands out, with nine female bandleaders out of sixteen concerts.
From October 22 to November 8 (with an additional preview on October 10), the festival will host stars from both the international scene (Kurt Elling with the Yellowjackets) and the Italian scene (Doctor 3 with Luciano Biondini), artists of the highest prestige but of rare visibility in Italy (Delfeayo Marsalis, Brandee Younger), and young rising stars who leave audiences amazed by their expressive maturity (Isaiah Collier). The explorations of the connections between afro-american music and Latin music (Yilian Cañizares, Marialy Pacheco) and of Italian jazz continue, featuring artists whose talent deserves true rediscovery.
This colorful cast will take to the countless stages of the festival: from historically and architecturally prestigious venues (Teatro Verdi, Sala dei Giganti at Liviano, Centro Culturale Altinate/San Gaetano) to the large event stage of Gran Teatro Geox, and the more informal spaces of Barco Teatro and the classrooms of the University of Padova.

Amii Stewart und Dee Dee Bridgewater: zwei Diven der Black Music schmücken das Programm des Padova Jazz Festival 2026. Begegnungen zwischen Künstlern verschiedener Generationen, stilistische Schnittstellen, die den Jazz mit der Gegenwart konfrontieren, explorative Anhörungen entlang der geografischen und historischen Trajektorien der afroamerikanischen Musik: all dies findet sich im Programm des Festivals in Padova, das zudem durch weibliche Präsenz besticht, mit neun Musikerinnen als Leiterinnen von sechzehn Konzerten.
Vom 22. Oktober bis 8. November (mit einer Vorschau am 10. Oktober) wird das Festival Stars der internationalen (Kurt Elling mit den Yellowjackets) und der italienischen Szene (Doctor 3 mit Luciano Biondini) beherbergen, Künstler von höchstem Prestige, aber seltener Sichtbarkeit in Italien (Delfeayo Marsalis, Brandee Younger), junge aufstrebende Talente, die mit ihrer ausdrucklichen Reife erstaunen (Isaiah Collier). Außerdem werden die Erkundungen der Verbindungen zwischen afroamerikanischer Musik und Latin Musik (Yilian Cañizares, Marialy Pacheco) sowie des italienischen Jazz mit Künstlern fortgesetzt, deren Talent eine echte Wiederentdeckung verdient.
