La mostra allestita al Museo degli Eremitani, a cura di Dieter Schwarz, presenta per la prima volta in Italia un nucleo di 100 opere su carta - disegni, schizzi, gouache e progetti - di Jannis Kounellis (Grecia, 1936-2017) realizzate tra il 1970 e il 1990.
L'esposizione indaga il ruolo centrale del disegno nella pratica artistica del pittore e scultore greco naturalizzato italiano, esponente di primo piano di quella che il critico Germano Celant ha definito Arte povera.
Il disegno è da considerarsi come parte integrante del processo creativo di Kounellis. Il nucleo di opere su carta presenta diverse sezioni tematiche, tra cui: progetti preparatori di opere, bozzetti di allestimenti, rappresentazioni di figure femminili, volti.
La mostra sarà accompagnata dalla prima importante pubblicazione di disegni e opere su carta di Jannis Kounellis, in edizione trilingue - italiano inglese, tedesco - a cura di Galleria Christian Stein.
Inaugurazione giovedì 25.07.24 alle ore 18:00.

The exhibition set up at the Eremitani Museum, curated by Dieter Schwarz, presents for the first time in Italy a group of 100 works on paper - drawings, sketches, gouache and projects - by Jannis Kounellis (Greece, 1936-2017) created between 1970 and 1990.
The exhibition investigates the central role of drawing in the artistic practice of the naturalized Greek painter and sculptor, a leading exponent of what the critic Germano Celant defined as Arte Povera.
Drawing is to be considered an integral part of Kounellis' creative process. The nucleus of works on paper presents different thematic sections, including: preparatory projects for works, sketches of installations, representations of female figures, faces.
The exhibition will be accompanied by the first important publication of drawings and works on paper by Jannis Kounellis, in a trilingual edition - Italian, English, German - edited by Galleria Christian Stein.
Inauguration Thursday 25.07.24 at 6pm.
From 27.07.24 to 17.11.24 every day 09:00-19:00.
