Ricostruendo vicende dimenticate e muovendosi tra le biografie straordinarie di donne troppo a lungo ignorate, Marianna Aprile ripercorre una storia lunga ottant’anni che tutti dovremmo conoscere e si chiede infine che cosa resta della promessa del suffragio femminile: le donne pensano ancora al voto come a “una cosa stupenda”, come la definì Lula Tonini nel 1946?

By reconstructing forgotten events and navigating through the extraordinary biographies of women long overlooked, Marianna Aprile retraces an eighty-year history that we all should know and ultimately wonders what remains of the promise of women's suffrage: do women still think of voting as “a wonderful thing,” as Lula Tonini defined it in 1946?

Indem sie vergessene Ereignisse rekonstruiert und sich zwischen den außergewöhnlichen Biografien von Frauen bewegt, die zu lange ignoriert wurden, verfolgt Marianna Aprile eine Geschichte, die achtzig Jahre lang ist und die wir alle kennen sollten, und fragt sich schließlich, was von dem Versprechen des Frauenwahlrechts übrig bleibt: Denken Frauen noch an das Wählen als etwas „Wunderschönes“, wie Lula Tonini es 1946 beschrieb?
