Il Festival Pianistico è un tributo al genio innovatore di Bartolomeo Cristofori, nato a Padova il 4 maggio 1655, che seppe magistralmente unire arte e tecnologia e "render su gli strumenti il parlar del cuore, ora con delicato tocco d'angelo, ora con violenta irruzzione di passioni".
Cristofori fu uno dei più celebri e importanti costruttori di clavicembali del suo tempo. Invitato personalmente dal Gran Principe Ferdinando de' Medici, alla corte medicea inventò i primi modelli di pianoforte, rivoluzionando la storia della musica.
