La famiglia Bach, con i tre figli di Johann Sebastian che in questo programma sono posti a confronto (Carl Philipp Emanuel, Wilhelm Friedemann e Johann Christian), offre emblematicamente uno spaccato dell’evoluzione del linguaggio musicale strumentale nel XVIII secolo, sensibile al forte cambio d'estetica dal "rassicurante" rigore contrappuntistico al travolgente fremito preromantico.
Flauto traversiere e clavicembalo plasmano il suono con modalità opposte e complementari e per questo perfetti per rappresentare questa interessante dicotomia.
