Alla scoperta di Palazzo Santo Stefano e i suoi sotterranei - Domenica 1 Febbraio 2026 - Padova
Sede storica della Provincia di Padova e della Prefettura, Palazzo Santo Stefano è uno scrigno di bellezze e memorie ancora poco conosciute da cittadini e turisti.
Le sue origini risalgono all’anno Mille come monastero benedettino femminile, ma sono tante le trasformazioni che si sono succedute, soprattutto dopo le soppressioni napoleoniche del 1810.
Dal 1868 l’edificio ospita l’Amministrazione provinciale, la Prefettura e la residenza del Prefetto. È un luogo tutto da scoprire, con le bellezze artistiche e architettoniche racchiuse nelle sue gallerie, nello scalone dell’ingresso, nella splendida e tutta affrescata sala consiliare, e con gli angusti sotterranei che fungevano, in periodo bellico, da rifugio antiaereo e antigas.
Sono previsti 3 distinti turni di visita, alle 09:30, 10:30 e 11:30, della durata (indicativa) di 1 ora e 10 minuti.
E' richiesto un contributo per partecipante di € 6 (5 € per i tesserati), e per i bambini fino ai 12 anni di € 3.

Discovering Palazzo Santo Stefano and its underground passages - Sunday, February 1, 2026 - Padua
The historic seat of the Province of Padua and the Prefecture, Palazzo Santo Stefano is a treasure trove of beauty and memories still little known to residents and tourists. Its origins date back to the year 1000 as a Benedictine convent, but many transformations have occurred, especially after the Napoleonic suppressions of 1810. Since 1868, the building has housed the Provincial Administration, the Prefecture, and the Prefect's residence. It is a place waiting to be discovered, with the artistic and architectural beauty contained within its galleries, the grand entrance staircase, the splendid and frescoed council chamber, and the narrow underground rooms that served as an air-raid and gas shelter during the war.
There are three separate tours, at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30, lasting approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
A fee of €6 per participant is required (€5 for members), and €3 for children under 12.

Als historischer Sitz der Provinz Padua und der Präfektur ist Palazzo Santo Stefano ein Schatz an Schönheiten und Erinnerungen, die sowohl Einheimischen als auch Touristen noch wenig bekannt sind.
Seine Ursprünge reichen bis ins Jahr 1000 zurück, als es ein benediktinisches Damenkloster war, aber es gab viele Transformationen, insbesondere nach den napoleonischen Aufhebungen von 1810.
Seit 1868 beherbergt das Gebäude die Provinzverwaltung, die Präfektur und die Residenz des Präfekten. Es ist ein Ort, der entdeckt werden will, mit den künstlerischen und architektonischen Schönheiten, die in seinen Galerien, im Eingangsbereich, im prächtigen, ganz mit Fresken geschmückten Sitzungssaal und in den engen Kellern verborgen sind, die in Kriegszeiten als Luftschutz- und Gasschutzräume dienten.
Es sind 3 verschiedene Besichtigungstermine vorgesehen, um 09:30, 10:30 und 11:30 Uhr, jeweils mit einer Dauer (ungefähr) von 1 Stunde und 10 Minuten.
Es wird ein Beitrag von 6 € pro Teilnehmer (5 € für Mitglieder) und für Kinder bis 12 Jahren von 3 € erhoben.
