Il viaggio di Clemente Miari nel Natale 1405-06 è un racconto inedito di Matteo Melchiorre, che lo ha desunto dall’antico manoscritto autografo del Chronicon (di cui ha curato l’edizione integrale).
Con l’accompagnamento musicale e la partecipazione in scena di Nelso Salton (contrabbasso) e di Tommaso Sogne (violino), la lettura scenica di Matteo Melchiorre trasforma una storia autentica emersa da vecchie carte in un momento di magica e inedita immersione nel passato.
Oltre a narrare con un sguardo dal basso e dai margini un momento epocale della storia europea, il racconto del viaggio di Clemente Miari testimonia un diverso rapporto con l’idea stessa del mettersi in viaggio: un rapporto fondato su di un confronto continuo e ineludibile con la natura, osservatrice silenziosa di successi degli uomini e delle loro sventure.
Storico e scrittore, direttore della Biblioteca del Museo e dell’Archivio Storico di Castelfranco Veneto, Melchiorre si occupa di storia economica e sociale del Medioevo e della prima età moderna, di montagna, boschi ed edizione di fonti. Il paesaggio medievale di Miari non viene ascoltato in un luogo appartato dalla vita quotidiana, ma nell’auditorium dell’azienda Trinseo, spazio produttivo contemporaneo che porta nel calendario un paesaggio del lavoro.

The journey of Clemente Miari at Christmas 1405-06 is an unpublished story by Matteo Melchiorre, derived from the ancient manuscript of the Chronicon (for which he curated the complete edition).
With musical accompaniment and the on-stage participation of Nelso Salton (double bass) and Tommaso Sogne (violin), Matteo Melchiorre's theatrical reading transforms an authentic story that emerged from old documents into a moment of magical and unprecedented immersion in the past.
In addition to narrating from a marginalized perspective a pivotal moment in European history, the tale of Clemente Miari's journey testifies to a different relationship with the very idea of embarking on a journey: a relationship based on a continuous and unavoidable confrontation with nature, the silent observer of human successes and misfortunes.
A historian and writer, director of the Library of the Museum and the Historical Archive of Castelfranco Veneto, Melchiorre focuses on the economic and social history of the Middle Ages and the early modern period, of mountains, forests, and the edition of sources. Miari's medieval landscape is not heard in a secluded place away from everyday life, but in the auditorium of Trinseo, a contemporary productive space that brings a work landscape into the calendar.

Als Historiker und Schriftsteller, Direktor der Bibliothek des Museums und des historischen Archivs von Castelfranco Veneto, beschäftigt sich Melchiorre mit der Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte des Mittelalters und der frühen Neuzeit, sowie mit Bergen, Wäldern und der Edition von Quellen.
