“Giovanni. Internato Militare Italiano n. 40886 Stalag XIID” è un reading teatrale proposto da Roberto Conte, nato dalla ricostruzione di una vicenda familiare reale attraverso fonti storiche, testimonianze e materiali d’archivio.
Il racconto riporta l’attenzione sulla storia degli Internati Militari Italiani, i soldati che durante la Seconda guerra mondiale subirono la deportazione e la prigionia, affrontando privazioni e sofferenze che lasciarono conseguenze profonde anche dopo il ritorno a casa.
Accompagnata dalla musica, la narrazione intreccia memoria personale e storia collettiva, restituendo il peso delle esperienze vissute e ricordando il coraggio di uomini la cui vicenda è rimasta a lungo poco conosciuta.
L’iniziativa si inserisce nel percorso di memoria dedicato agli Internati Militari Italiani. Nel 2025 è stata infatti istituita la Giornata della Memoria degli Internati Italiani, celebrata il 20 settembre, con l’obiettivo di conservare e trasmettere la conoscenza di questa pagina della storia.

„Giovanni. Internierter Militär Italiener Nr. 40886 Stalag XIID“ ist eine Theaterlesung, die von Roberto Conte vorgeschlagen wird und aus der Rekonstruktion einer wahren Familiengeschichte aus historischen Quellen, Zeugnissen und Archivmaterialien entstanden ist.
Die Erzählung lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Geschichte der Internierten Militär Italiener, der Soldaten, die während des Zweiten Weltkriegs deportiert und gefangen genommen wurden, und die Entbehrungen und Leiden erlebten, die auch nach ihrer Rückkehr nach Hause tiefgreifende Folgen hatten.
Begleitet von Musik verknüpft die Erzählung persönliche Erinnerungen und kollektive Geschichte und vermittelt das Gewicht der erlebten Erfahrungen sowie den Mut von Männern, deren Schicksal lange Zeit wenig bekannt war.
Die Initiative ist Teil des Erinnerungsweges, der den Internierten Militär Italienern gewidmet ist. Im Jahr 2025 wurde der Tag des Gedenkens an die italienischen Internierten eingeführt, der am 20. September gefeiert wird, mit dem Ziel, das Wissen über dieses Kapitel der Geschichte zu bewahren und weiterzugeben.
