Ogni anno, in settembre, la città murata di Montagnana torna al Medioevo e si anima di cavalieri e dame, artigiani e popolani, tutti riuniti per assistere all'entusiasmante corsa a cavallo che vede sfidarsi, nel verde vallo attorno alle mura medievali, i 10 Comuni dell'antica Scodosia.
Sabato 6 settembre, il mercatino medievale e l'animazione di sbandieratori, giullari e giocolieri animeranno la Piazza. Seguirà dalle ore 17.00 alle ore 19.00 l’appassionante Tenzone degli Arcieri nel vallo di Porta Padova, mentre dalle ore 19.00 alle ore 21.00 la Piazza sarà allietata da spettacoli di musici, sbandieratori, arte infuocata e giochi, musiche e balli medievali. Alle ore 22.00, nel vallo della Rocca degli Alberi, lo show di focoleria equestre e alle ore 23.00 lo spettacolare incendio della fortezza.
Domenica 7 settembre, il mercatino medievale sarà attivo in centro storico dalle ore 9.00, con antichi mestieri, sbandieratori, giullari, giocolieri e spettacoli vari. A seguire, si potrà assistere al corteo storico che attraverserà le vie del centro dalle 14.30 e all’entusiasmante Corsa del Palio disputata tra i 10 Comuni, preceduta dalla Corsa dei Gonfaloni e dall'esibizione di musici e sbandieratori.
Every year, in September, the walled city of Montagnana returns to the Middle Ages and comes alive with knights and ladies, artisans and commoners, all gathered to watch the exciting horse race that sees the 10 Municipalities of ancient Scodosia challenge one other on the grassy meadow that surrounds the walls.
On Saturday 6 September, the medieval market and the animation of flag-wavers, jesters and jugglers will enliven the square from the morning, followed by the exciting Tenzone degli Arceri in the moat right outside Porta Padova from 5 pm to 7 pm. From 7 pm to 9 pm, the main square will host exhibitions by musicians, flag-wavers, fire performances and medieval games, music and dances. At 10 pm, the Rocca degli Alberi moat will host the equestrian fire show carried out by knights and at 11 pm the spectacular fire of the fortress.
On Sunday 7 September, the medieval market will be active in the historic center from 9 am, with ancient crafts, flag-wavers, jesters, jugglers and various shows. Afterwards, you can watch the historical procession that will cross the streets of the center from 2.30 pm and the exciting Corsa del Palio held between the 10 municipalities, preceded by the Corsa dei Gonfaloni and the performance of musicians and flag-wavers.
